I wake up at 5:15, work out at 5:30 until 6:30 and then start work at 8:00.

I get up at 4 every morning to workout, regardless of whether I work that day or not. I am contemplating going to grad school at night. I figure I better do it before college becomes free and my degree, diluted.

My summer is about booked as far as guide trips go. I have about three more open days in July then I will be booked. Tackle is steady but I can handle it as it comes in.

I have been going to the gym myself early 4 days a week or so. Our little gym is deserted early which is awesome for me. I irritated something in my lower back (frick getting old) last week so I have been taking it easy. Planning on testing it tomorrow.

My kids are about to be gone for 10 days. Just me and da wife here. Quiet time for us. Not use to that

I have a 19 year old who graduated High School last May who is still here. Just not for much longer. And I have a 15 year old who will start high school next year. Got started late on kids. Was married 11 years before we started

I need details.

He is a good kid. Autistic. Will live with me and his mom till we die probably. As soon as he is out of school and his mom and I are tired of working (bout 5.5 more years), we are retiring early and heading south.

Do you think you'll work at least a little when you head down there?

Depends on where we end up. Probably. I am not one to just do nothing. I will probably get me a part time guiding gig somewhere if we end up in south florida.

If we end up in the caribbean, that may be a different story.

My wife will probably work part time as well for a while. She enjoys working some. I could see us doing two days a week for a while for pocket money... Then chilling for the rest of the week

I have a few things to concur the next 5 years before that will happen though.

I've really had pursuing a minimalist type lifestyle in mind for the past year or two...not necessarily early retirement, but easier, simple living. I've wondered how much income a truly chilled/happy lifestyle would require. My guess is that it's really not that much....

Head to Costa Rica or someplace like that. I think the retirement $ goes a long way in some of those places.

Im in that same category Jim. I have worked pretty hard for a while now. I do not want to work like I have been for the next 10-15 years. Id like to enjoy my 50's.

My wife and I have been planning on early retirement for 20 years. Hopefully, things will stay steady, nothing major will happen and it will work. Its not a easy thing to do really. I dont want to just stop and dry up but I would love to slow down in a much sunnier , warm place and enjoy life for a while. I can still work a few days to bring in some cash and my wife can get a job anywhere we go.

Just need a few things to work out over the next few years and maybe the plan will work.

Started a part time job at BassPro until I can figure out a long term career deal. It's worth it just for the discount. Spend my paycheck on rods and reels.

Everyone in the fishing department is either a guide or tournament fisherman.
