Serious question.

This isn't a thread to say bench JJ, start Sean.

All I know about him is he performed well during the All-American games he took part in as a high school player.

I've seen the jokes on the board about his height (not sure the back story there).

I know this will be hard on the Rant, but can someone discuss his strengths (besides "not JJ"), weaknesses, etc.? Would he be a running threat or is he a pure pocket passer?

Was very accurate with the ball out of High School. The jokes about his height are just an inside joke. Definitely not a Nick Marshall type but he doesn't have lead feet either.

Was Elite 11 MVP. I initially wanted him over JJ but I let the JJ hype train get to me.

For one he has someone else who taught him fundamentals, so there is that. Accurate passer. Looks small standing next to JJ. Savior of the Auburn offense and football program.

Ken Mastrole has coached and mentored Auburn freshman quarterback Sean White since the eighth grade, and he says he believes White will have something to say about the race to be the Tigers’ starting quarterback. Ken Mastrole who has worked closely with the Auburn freshman since the 8th grade has seen White develop into one of the Nation’s top quarterbacks coming out of high school. Mastrole helped White with providing correct fundamentals, mechanics, and knowledge of the game. Wh ite captured multiple awards from Elite 11 MVP, Under Armour All American and MVP, ESPN 300, All State, All County honors, and an Auburn football scholarship. Now the freshman quarterback is ready to set his focus on the Tiger’s starting

I have hopes he's more like Conner Shaw. Play him, let him take is lumps.

Thanks for the info.

I've seen now in a couple of threads where it looks like White took all reps with the ones yesterday at practice.

Is he a faster runner than Johnson?

It would certainly make more sense to let him make his debut in JHS instead of on the road this past Saturday. If nothing else, if he starts I believe the fans will stick it out and be louder than if JJ starts again and flops.

THIS.

You don't want to throw out SW to the wolves in a hostile environment on the road and potentially end up with two headcases at QB. No one knows how he will react in live game situations. Best to experiment with that for the first time at home.

His best offer other than us was from Cincinnati he is like 6-0 tall weighs about 210

but he might be able to know where to throw the ball and how to not shite his pants for 4 hours on saturday

Wrong. After he committed, he shut his recruitment down and stopped reporting offers. This kid blew up his senior season and picked up a lot of offers that never saw the light of day because he had no reason to publicize them.

Im not sure anyone has enough real info on Sean to know how good/bad he is. All we have is ADay and High School stuff which will not help a bit

The only real way to know what he is going to do is to throw his arse in the game and let him lead the team

Then we will know

His technique looks much better than JJ's from his recruiting videos. But college pressure is night and day difference. Guess we will see Saturday night!

Lashlee softening tone and said "evaluating all options." And my personal belief is JJ is on a very short leash with 6 interceptions so far.

Aaron Murray is a really good assessment.

If he was Aaron Murray then he wouldn't be on the bench. White hasn't sniffed PT this season.

I like White but the reality is that JJ looked better than White in practices. There's no other explanation for why JJ is still starting if White looked better or close.
