You do know 2010 needed a last second FG to beat Kentucky, won by 3 against Miss St, and got very lucky to win in OT vs. a 6-7 Clemson team.
But they also came back from 24 to beat a massively stacked Bama team in Tuscaloosa, they beat Oregon on a neutral field and held them to 70 yards rushing when they were averaging 800 yards a game. And managed to go undefeated when the west was at its best under the most scrutinized season of all time
Team was unbeatable

I suspect nobody is unbeatable. The 2004 team was definitely a better football team. IMO they were better and built similar to the 2010 bama squad the 2010 team barely beat. So an argument can certainly be made 2004 would beat 2010. However, Cam was Cam in 2010 and I wouldn't have bet against him.

Pretty much my point.
2004, better (overall talent).
2010, unbeatable.
Plus, I think 2004's "edge" on defense would have been neutralized by one of the best, most experienced OL units I've ever seen at Auburn. Were they the best OL I've ever seen individually at Auburn? No, probably not even close. But as to playing as a unit, I think they couldn't be surpassed.
Now flip it and ask was the 2004 OL good? Yes, they were indeed. But though the 2010 defense was pretty bad overall, the strength of that defense was the DL (plus Josh Bynes). So even that match was slightly (to me) in favor of the 2010 team.
The big advantage for the 2004 team over the 2010 team was the 2004 WR squad vs. the 2010 LBs not named Josh Bynes and the 2010 secondary. But that happened A LOT in 2010 where the 2010 LBs (sans Bynes) and the 2010 secondary were outmatched and outclassed by the opposing offense. And it wasn't pretty but, inevitably, it never ultimately mattered.

Football is basically about imposing your will on the opponent. The question is simple. Could Tubbs have run the ball on 2010 D and beat them with play action...ironically the same could be said of 2010 Gus...could he run the ball (Cam as the X factor) and beat the 2004 team on play action and misdirection? We will never know.

To be fair, for these two games The Matador AJ Greene was at RT. Cam had to use every bit of his greatness to overcome basically playing 10 on 11.

Both went Undefeated against all odds. Both are NC in my eyes. Both were great seasons.
In the bowl game, Auburn suffered from not being in the NC game.
Would be a great game between two great teams, I would go with 04.

We had two of the best Jimmie rustlers of all time on that team, don't forget Nick Fairley.
