So…No takers for more than he’s currently making

Probably just no more takers at the P5 level

That process will have to change soon. Too many players will leave schools in a bad position by going in and out and testig the waters.

Imagine putting in your two week notice at work then on the last day, deciding not to leave because you could not find anything better

Or he leveraged for a bump, and got it?

Same difference.

Has anyone picked up Ashford yet? I have not seen anything on him. He just needs to change positions if not picked up.

On3 has 2,080 players listed in the portal. Only 861 have been picked up out of the portal. 72 have withdrawn.

In a world of numbers, where it's 85 and abut being paid, I'd not take him back in his current role

Sorry kid but we've reevaluated that position and it's currently filled. . .

. . . BUT (and it's a big but) if you care to re-apply as a student athlete in another undergraduate program, we can arrange for you to talk to a guidance counselor.

etc: his position

This happens in business all the time, folks thinking about leaving turn in their resignation, the boss finally recognizes their worth, the employee gets a raise, etc. and encouraged to stay.

Did he have any leverage?

true dat

But playing that, much like the squeaky wheel plan, requires you have the goods and not just a bluff.

I’d be shocked for him to have leverage. We have 2-3 RBs on the roster who are equal or better.

I don’t even know this is about the RB position with regards to his abilities. He was supposed to be an all-everything returner and did not come close to playing to that potential so that has significantly devalued him.
