After he graduated from Auburn, Obomanu headed to law school at Alabama.

And he did so wearing his 'State of Auburn' t-shirt

For real though, frick those shirts. I blame the wheels falling off last season on those things turning up before the A&M game.

Glad he's pursuing a lofty career. I always wore my Auburn stuff at Alabama. People are cool about it. It's the rural fans you have to worry about

A friend of mine had a class with him at Auburn just last fall. On the first day of class everyone had to introduce themselves with their name and a random fact as it was only a class of about 20.

Ben sat near the back and was really quiet.. until his turn when he stood up and said "Hi I'm Ben and my random fact is that I won a super bowl".

Quickly got everyone's attention and effectively conquered all other possible random facts.

I was coming here to call him a traitor but then I saw the shirt.

Well played Ben. Well played

Not to be a downer, but when would he have won a Super Bowl? I thought he was released by Seattle before they won it.

Regardless, great for Ben continuing his education.

Not really. I parked on alabama's campus once, illegally. I was away from my car for less than five minutes and I return to see a cop putting something under my windshield wiper. I thought it was a parking ticket for sure. Turns out it was a law degree.

As I recall, Obomanu was an extremely smart kid. Had opportunities to go elsewhere. Having played several years in the NFL, no doubt he can afford to go anywhere to law school. Given his intellect, Im somewhat surprised he didnt go Ivy league or some other high end law school.

However, he is from Alabama, and if he wants to live in alabama and practice in Alabama, it is politically and practically important to attend Alabama Law School. Thats just the facts.

So, good on him for coming home to pursue his professional career beyond football.
