Went to Panama City for graduation. I graduated HS in 08. Walking down the beach, this shite faced college guy gets in my face and asks me if I have a problem. Long story short, he was messing with me, and he was also with the starting front 7 for Alabama. They had hot bitches and cold beer.

Here's what I want from a server:
Information and/or advice about the menu
Information as to the state of my order
Interrogatories as to my needs (refills, etc.)
Courtesy
Timeliness
Here's what I don't want from a server:
Their opinions on politics
Their opinions on football
Their opinions on relationships
Their opinions on my opinions
Their opinions on anything outside of my order and my needs
Information and/or advice about the menu
Information as to the state of my order
Interrogatories as to my needs (refills, etc.)

Timeliness
Here's what I don't want from a server:

I love how people think you're obligated to tip a server x amount. I used to deliver furniture, and 90% of the time we didn't get jack. So, I have no problem only tipping $5. I would have been greatful to get that. Who deserves a 20% more: a person carrying a 400 lbs. sofa or a person carrying a plate of food?

I fricking hate when Bama fans feel the need to say Roll Tide to me. I don't give a damn about them and don't want them interrupting my day with that shite redneck call.
Who's to say the guy didn't leave the rest of the tip in cash. It is apparent he wanted to gig the server some and most likely left some cash.
I would have also left a note saying I would have given more if you wouldn't have bammered up my meal...

I'd like to clarify that if this guy was a douche about it it's ok but people take it too seriously if all they did was say roll tide
Many restaurants can and do pay under minimum wage and people rely on tips for their income
If you don't like it, there are plenty of countries where there is no tipping in the culture. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Europe not having to tip

I tip 20% minimum.
Except (1) if the service is horrible or (2) if the server is rude.

Dude, I think you might be taking this a bit too seriously. As beaver said, if it was done with disdain or a sneer, then fine be pissed. If the server was smiling in a friendly manner, this might be the silliest thing to get angry about or be offended by. You may be offended, but I'm offended by you being way too easily offended.
