you do want Frazier as QB

All kidding aside I am not in favor of benching Marshall for Frazier. That battle has been fought and Marshall has been found to be the better option. I'm not even in favor of benching Marshall at all right now but he needs to play better or my personal opinion on that matter may change. FTR I expect Marshall to play much better against OM.

I think the biggest area Marshall is going to be tested is when he rolls out on a waggle or PA Pass. OM is going to bring some pressure up the middle, especially on 3rd downs. Can he hit the crossing route or deep route that side when he rolls/scrambles and extend the drive? This is the most significant thing we will find out. If yes -> improvement, if no -> stagnant. Bubble screens and Mason/Cap runs should keep the LBs honest so he might be able to scoot for a 1st.

We will see.

short run, bubble screen, overn thrown deep ball is not what I want to see on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down.

Bama had 200+ rushing yards on Ole Miss. I say we come out and establish the run game like we did against LSU. I wouldn't mind if NM only had 19 or 20 attempts on the game.

254 and that is a slightly deceiving number.

118 of those yards came on two carries.

So for the rest of the game outside those two carries, they had 38 attempts for 136 yards.

That's a 3.57 ypc average and not very good.

Just for reference, we had 36 attempts vs MSU for 120 yards (3.33 ypc) and everyone agrees our running game looked bad that weekend.

Good point I just want to us to try and pound it before conceding and giving Marshall 30+ attempts

in all seriousness, Ole Miss might have the best defensive front we've faced to this point... probably better than LSU and MSU.

I could see our rushing game take a little bit of a step back on saturday... i think LSU's weak front seven may have given us a false impression of our OL. Hope I'm wrong on that, but Ole Miss will likely sell out to stop the run... so like it or not, the game is probably gonna be in Marshall's hands.

I will respectfully but vehemently disagree with this. Nkemdiche is Ole Miss' best player on the line, and C.J. Johnson probably won't even play Saturday. They don't come close to MSU or LSU as far as overall talent.

We should be able to run the ball on them.

Ole Miss has given up under 4 ypc to vandy and texas... outside of the two long runs to bama, they've been solid against the run all year. MSU gave up nearly 300 yards rushing to Ok State... Im sure some of those yards came in big chunks, but the fact remains they averaged over 7 ypc in that game (outside of AU, this is the only game of theirs worth menioning).

LSU's front seven is hot garbage.

That doesn't really impress me.

UT's starting QB didn't play. Their starting RB still averaged 4.8 ypc.

Vandy's starting RB is 18th in the SEC in ypg. And they are dead last as a team in ypg.

So, I guess it's safe to say that Garrett won't be playing Sat?

I highly doubt anything comes of it but did any of you see the story about the Ole Miss players disrupting the play on campus with homophobic slurs? It was all freshman and I believe that Treadwell was one of the players involved. I think the details are sketchy but the university has spoken on the issue. I wonder if Freeze will have to do anything to the players involved. From what I've read on Ole Miss' board, the only real player of note involved would be Treadwell.

I'm sure they will be disciplined, but not in a way that takes away game time. Which would be the best way to handle it, imo.

You are not gonna sit your best young WR for being stupid.

I am sure he ran a ton yesterday after practice and that was it.
