Yeah that sounds fun and all until you realize it is a 60 hour drive round trip.

My grandparents retired in Arizona so worst case I fly to AZ then drive to Pasadena.

Driving 60 hours is god awful. I wouldn't even do it for a free ticket

Get RV
Get 3 or 4 friends to go.
Rotate drivers.

Simple.

60?

I'm guessing it'll end up being more like 80, honestly. But if you have four or five different people driving it's doable and there'll never be another time in most of our lives where driving all the across the country is possible.

Wife and I drove from Monterey, CA to Huntsville in 35 hours with 10 hours stopping in TX to sleep and we stopped often because we had two young kids with us....it is a long trip...

I agree that students should get more tickets. If it weren't for them, there wouldn't even be a university. They are also the ones who could use face value tickets the most. I do like the idea of rewarding students who have attended Auburn sporting events during the year. Some kids are true fans who drive to away games and attend all home games. Others sell their season tickets to make money, and if they win the lottery will go to their first football game of the year. I'd like to see the students get at least 5,000 tickets. For a 92,000 seat stadium, that still leaves 82,000 tickets which is more than there were for the 2010 BCS game.

This is cruel doing it during Finals week.

I drove from Mobile to Challis Idaho for the Braun Brothers Reunion 3 years ago and it was absolutely awesome.

I understand students get shite on but I didn't expect to be shite on at a higher percentage than Alabama - LSU

2000 divided by Bama enrollment of 34852 = 5.7% of students

2000 divided by LSU enrollment of 30000 = 6.7% of students get tickets

2000 divided by AU enrollment of 25469 = 7.9% of students get tickets

I'll help your case by saying that you are not including graduate students in those numbers who are also eligible

Actually those were total enrollment numbers from Wiki, not just undergrad.

I'm assuming the universities would ensure that their Wiki pages are kept accurate.

Auburn's student population hasn't grown in 30 years.

Its bigger now than when I was at Auburn.

(Just going by failing memory, I think total enrollment was between 16,000 and 17,000 back in 1985.)

I think you're right but for some weird reason I have been thinking student enrollment total was like 28k Been telling people the wrong thing for awhile

Freshman Enrollment numbers have been the same roughly since 1979

Total enrollment on the right side since 1976

So technically it has changed a little but comparatively, not really much at all. Auburn has stayed pretty much the same size when you compare it to other SEC schools.

I am enlightened by your post. Did not know the specifics of picking up the student tickets. Looks like it is designed prevent students from selling theirs. Thanks.

Supposedly they only gave out 1500 BCS tickets this year after initially claiming 2000

That gives us 5.8% for Auburn. Also, 1500 is the lowest for any school to give to their students despite the Rose Bowl having the highest ticket allocation for schools.
