with 4 different HCs

1/1/20 - Northwestern (Gustav)
1/1/21 - Minnesota (Steele)
12/28/21 - Houston (Harsin)
12/30/23 - Maryland (Freezus)

to paraphrase Billy Shakespeare, the fault lies not in our HCs but in the logo on our helmets

It is a long season for these guys. They get to the end after losing to their main rival.

It’s pathetic. There was zero fight from us yesterday.

For the most part. Hank, Chapman, and Cobb looked feisty and determined to win.

But yep so few +1's doesn't near overcome all the negatives.

Barry Alvarez could be dead and resurrect himself to beat Auburn again.

We make a bunch of boring offseason teams that are historically shitty programs look well coached if they play against Auburn. If Auburn wants to sign a pact that they will only use bowl games for a spring training primer, then I would be okay with that. I actually did like how the Maryland crew gave both QBs plenty of real experience to get their feet wet while giving the coaches an idea of where they are at. Eventually we have to give up this whole football pride thing if we are going to lose to Northwestern, Minnesota, UCF, Wisconsin's retired coach, Maryland, Houston and so on. We are a got damned joke in the postseason.

2015 against Memphis is an example of what it should be like even when we have a dreadful team. We should still have talent at the baseline that sits higher than the AAC's baseline.

Only playoff bowls mean anything anymore.

Good thing there's gonna be bunch starting next year.

I'm excited about that. Would be nice to get in there the first year of its existence.

Record vs top 25
Record vs top 10
Record vs Rivals

All records that matter and no one mentions.

But OMG OUR BOWL RECORD. Who gives a shite about a bowl record?

Will never understand that

I give a shite about bowl games. Just because the players are now being selfish and opting out doesnt mean that Auburn vs Power 5 school not in the SEC isnt important. It shows how our programs matches up with others, regardless of how many excuses you can provide for not caring or players not caring or not playing for anything. This shite goes into the history books regardless of apathy

Read next time.

Everything you just said is irrelevant to what I said. I didn’t say I didn’t care about bowls. It’s objectively a shitty metric to look at but is the most commonly brought up.

When the players start caring about bowl games again then so will I.

If that’s on the head coach or OC/DC that gets the blame for loses then so be it. But at this point the players don’t give a shite so neither will I
