Gus is stubborn and needs to be replaced. Not sure why there are still Auburn fans willing to go through back to back losing seasons to get the message.

I seriously doubt JJ would have sniffed the field today at the qb position except for the fact that White was obviously gimped with that knee.

Auburn may have lost the last two games, but can you really not see they are playing better?

Pulling the plug on a coach in his third year is just dumb.

Yes, his last one of the season. Was his best game I have seen from him. Played MLB very well today, and was making plays all over. It was worth missing the rest of the Auburn game. TBH watching my kids play is always worth missing an Auburn game.

It was clear the way SW let some passes sail that his injury was affecting him. I didn't have a problem with how we use JJ in very limited capacity given Sean was crippled

I did.

If White was good to go, then let him play. If he can't do everything you ask of your QB, then start the backup. When you do that QB carousel bullshite, it hurts the team.

Yeah I think it pretty much fricked away the entire first qtr in hindsight, but I think White was hurting pretty damn bad but just managed to grit his teeth through it. I can see Gus's motivation going into it, but it was just so over the top. After the first though it was just dumb.

And who in their right mind would take the Auburn job right now if we fire the man responsible for two conference championships and our only national championship in 58 years?

Look, I get it - our coaching staff isn't perfect. But this nonsense needs to stop.
for starters, its not nonsense. The past three years have been filled with questionable play calling and poor coaching decisions. I get that most believe that Gus needs to be given another year to turn it around. I just dont want him calling the plays anymore. If Gus cannot hand control of the offense over to someone else, he needs to go.

And ffs, get rid of Lashlee. He is wasted space.

Football players at the very highest levels of football (FBS, NFL) play hurt. If they didn't play hurt, they would hardly ever play at all.

If Sean White was healthy enough to walk out onto that field and get hit by the large defensive players in the Ole Miss front seven, then he was damned well healthy enough to start a FULL GAME.

And he *did* get hit... repeatedly. And he stood tall in the pocket and took those hits in his attempts to complete passes. He wasn't a happy-footed pussy scared of the pressure surrounding him like some QBs.

Dear Gus: If you send him out there to take the beating, at least respect him enough to actually treat him like, you know, YOUR frickING STARTING QUARTERBACK.

The look on Sean's face when Gus didnt trust him to throw the hail mary at the end of the game said it all. Like, "what the frick coach? I can throw the fricking ball 55 yards too"

then JJ turns out to be a complete bust..

What does that say about Gus's ability to mold Qbs?

I don't necessarily disagree, but what does Sean White say about Gus' ability to mold QB's? We can't just throw him out to fit the narrative.

Yep... will be interesting to hear the spin if/when white continues to improve. He's got a good shot at being a 3-1/2 year starter, provided he stays healthy. He could end up destroying AU career passing numbers.

All of this. It pisses me off to continue to watch Gus try to prove he is the smartest person in the stadium. We can't just run a Hail Mary, no we have to trot out the guy that has struggled all year and watch him heave a fricking duck 20 yards down field. We have to drive the length of the field and then yank Robinson and insert JJ to waste a down on a qb draw for no gain. We can't run a simple play for positive yards when White has to come out, we have to heave it 40 fricking yards and waste another down. We can't run a hurry up offense at the end of the half to try for a field goal, gotta let JJ throw up the ball as he throws up all over himself running a qb keeper...You would think the coaches have money on the game the way they are inventing new ways to kill drives and momentum.

I know what you're saying and the only thing I'll say in response is that, going into the game, its possible Malzahn thought SW was crippled to the point of possible ineffectiveness. I totally lost my shite at Malzahn during this game, but you really dont know exactly whats going to happen until game day. The idea that you know absolutely how SW would handle gametime BEFORE the game is pretty silly.

Anyway, imo this was probably the worst coaching perfomance I've ever seen from Malzahn so im definitely not going to waste any more energy arguing minor points. That coaching performance deserves little to no defense and Malzahn should watch that tape 5 times daily before next weekend and make a list of all the dumb shite he will never do again in his coaching career.

Gus hasn't been "molding" him for three years. Don't worry he'll be a head case by the time Gus is done with him. What kind of head coach takes out his starter for a hail mary and puts in bumble frick...

A lot of coaches when the backup can throw it a lot further. That was actually the only time all day it actually made sense.

That's great and and when they asked him to do what he's good at, heaving it up into triple coverage, he managed to frick that up too...If anything, Gus should have let Sean do it and given the kid an atta boy for hanging tough. Instead he gets pulled and ESPN zooms in on his disappointment and realization that Malzhan doesn't really trust him as much as being the starter should indicate. It didn't have to be thrown a lot further. We were at about the 50.
