@StatTiger: Sean White is the first AU QB to throw for 250+ in 3 consecutive gms since Dameyune Craig (1997).

Plus White has been throwing from behind the sticks for the majority and he played cripple today.

Sean could win a lot of games at Auburn if he had a competent coaching staff behind him. Too bad hes going to be benched when Gus finds "his" QB next year.

And one TD pass in those games. That's on the herp derp coaches too, not him.

ETA: and some pathetic hands by our WRs.

This notion that the coaches are playing favorites when it comes to QBs just doesn't make sense... it's in everyone's best interest to play the guy who gives the team the best chance to win. Obviously that's white... and as a result he's the unquestioned starter (even when he's not 100% healthy).

Barring injury, no one is taking the job this year or next... It's not like we have a 5 star stud qb committed that could pull a kyler Murray.

There are plenty of good/legit reasons to criticize malzahn and this staff... this perceived favoritizism isn't one of them.

I can accept that but half the fans on here are sure that we are just one miracle juco qb away from greatness. If that's what its going to take then we are going to be in for some shitty seasons.

He's still only 2-3 as a starter mainly because of Gus Malzahn play call. And how bad the D was vs Arkansas

We had that last year and lost 5 games.

This teams issues are much deeper than that... tbh, quarterback hasn't been one of them the last couple games... and it only was an issue today bc of white's sore knee.

I agree. Hopefully Muschamp gets some time to fix the defensive issues of the past decade and hopefully Gus pulls his head out of his arse. Based on predictive analysis and trends its looking like he won't be able to.

It's amazing how that is lost on so many when discussing the QB position under Gus.

Aside from UGA, and maybe Miss St, our offense played easily well enough for us to win every game last season. With our offense from last year we are pretty easily 7-1 right now.

I just hope he is better by next week. Watching him "run" for that one first down was painful.

Making absolute statements are fun when you don't have to prove it.

How did Lawson finish up today? I had to run two hours in.

its a matter of pride to Gus. He groomed JJ to be the starter for three years...even made a point of mentioning that in interviews and media days....then JJ turns out to be a complete bust..

What does that say about Gus's ability to mold Qbs?

Add in the fact that whenever JJ is called to throw, he is going to throw it up for grabs, every fricking time.

Gus is stubborn and needs to be replaced. Not sure why there are still Auburn fans willing to go through back to back losing seasons to get the message.

And who in their right mind would take the Auburn job right now if we fire the man responsible for two conference championships and our only national championship in 58 years?

Look, I get it - our coaching staff isn't perfect. But this nonsense needs to stop.

I wish DC was the one coaching him.

I thought he finished strong. The announcers kept commenting about his stamina, but he did not stay off the field very long at all imo.

It was amazing how much better the defense looked with Cass and Lawson out there at the same time.

The pressure looked pretty good to me most of the game. Several catches were really toss ups that Kelly threw, I kind of thought we would get a few more interceptions tbh. Very rarely did he have a lot of time in the pocket--- and that is pretty much the first time I can think of this year that I could say that.

The defense looked a ton better and Lawson causes havoc. I was just curious how he looked towards the latter stages of the game. Thank you
