In a vacuum, I'm not against direct snap plays. Cox can throw a little too, so it's not a complete giveaway. Of course, if he pirouttes after the direct snap THEN we can lose our shite.

How Johnson or Cowart can't beat out Walker for the 4th DT spot is mind blowing. I like Walker, he plays tough and has a good motor, but if our 4th DT is a 5'11 270 lb walk on, frick.

Phillip is off on this one. Coe will move inside to be the 4th DT on plays he's not at DE.

Am I the only one getting tired of having so many of our DEs move to DT? Can't we just do a good job of recruiting natural DTs and stick with that approach?

The problem is that we aren't living in a vacuum. We have all SEEN what this "too smart for my own good" thinking by Gus does to a game and to a season.

As to the comment,

I don't believe it. If Cox is a signifcant part of our offense, Gus is meddling big time.

Are you telling me that Chip looked at last year and said, "Oh man, I love what you did with Cox in the backfield last year. We are going to use all my stuff, but keep that ONE thing."

Nope.

Hopefully, some of this is just a well-orchestrated disinformation campaign. But we have the #1 transfer QB in the nation and we are stacked at WR. If we aren't maxing that combo out, fire up the jets. Gus needs to GTFO.

Don't get me wrong. I am all about some trickery and obfuscation. But when you have obvious weapons, use them until they don't work. Don't insert a herp derp just to seem clever.

That is what I'd assume as well. I still just can't believe, even losing Jackson, that we don't have 4 legit DT's to use and then use some other guys just to change things up.

Gus needs to watch the end of "Hoosiers" again. When the game was on the line, they didn't call-up some trick BS. They went with Jimmy, their warhorse. He made the last shot to win the game.

Direct snap to Cox = "the picket fence".

Jarrett = Jimmy = National Championship

He could think Cox is a weapon and just should be used in a different way. That's not that crazy to think. The direct snap would be dumb imo but if it's just regular wildcat and not the spin in circle bullshite we are fine

I still think its really dumb. Just have Pettway do it, hes basically a fullback with better speed. I don't get this shite man. I swear if I see that shite and no gain or loss I will want Gus's balls cut off and put in hashbrowns at WH scattered smothered and covered then feed to his little small pint sized dog.

riggght makes since. It's not like we have a Kerryon Johnson, Kam Pettway, or Deven Barrett to run it. This reaks of Gus Malzahn.

I wondered what would happen to Cox when Chip arrived. In a perfect world Chip would have more of a TE hybrid like Sal back there.

Cox is not a weapon he's a lead blocker. Any carry he gets is taking away carries from one of our real weapons.

I agree but I would like to see him used a bit more in the passing game that way he at least has to be accounted for by the defense which in turn could open up our other weapons

I also don't think it's crazy that Chip thinks Cox is a good enough athlete to be used in some capacity. It doesn't have to be a Gus thing although I know everytime something doesn't work this year that will be the go to excuse

Is this real or is this a troll?

There would be boos from the stands if this happened.

No doubt. Any other coach in the country would have won the national championship the last 3 seasons...Sarcasm.

Not sure why anyone wouldn't want Cox more involved. If you don't involve him you don't have to account for him defensively. Making it easier to defend our O.
