So what are our chances against USCe this weekend? I am pretty excited about our progress this year so far.

He has some soreness in his shoulder. Not sure what we can get out of him.

This keeps happening and people are getting the boot off of this board. You cannot just derail every thread with this nonsense and I really don't like being like that, but that's how it's going to be.

On a baseball related note, why is our RPI still fairly low?
quote:

4. South Carolina 18-6
13. Kentucky 19-7
18. Ole Miss 16-9
19. Florida 17-9
24. Arkansas 20-5
28. Vanderbilt 17-9
30. Tennessee 14-8
32. Missouri 21-4
34. LSU 17-8
36. State 16-10
47. Auburn 21-6
60. aTm 17-9
149. Alabama 12-13
154. Georgia 11-15
I understand we started really low and it's a gradual climb. Is our SOS just that shitty?

I'm sure losing to Samford/South and dropping a game to UGA aren't helping

True, but they're still Top100 RPI teams. Those aren't awful losses

UGA
bad loss

Hoping we can get a win (or 2) versus USCe

RPI is heavily weighted in favor of road or neutral site games.

Going 2-1 at home is roughly the same as going 1-2 on the road for your own wim% calculation for baseball (a percentage of your RPI is based on that)

So the fact we play mostly at home thus far and dropped a couple completely fricks our RPI

To add to above in terms of basketball as formula changes a bit

Going 1-2 for 3 road games is better than 2-1 in home games for RPI

Basevall it is ever so slightly worse

RPI doesn't Directly factor in who you lost to, just that you lost and where it happened

For basketball for example, had we lost to Texas Tech or Oklahoma but beat Mizz in SECT, our RPI should be roughly the same despite not dropping a shite game to Mizz

Ya, the media/reporters never explain how RPI is made so people often struggle With the following Weird quirks of RPI

-You can beat a team and still Lower your RPI score (which means much lower rank)

-Going 2-2 vs #1, #50, #100, #1000 should more or less be about equal no matter which 2 opponents you W or L against

-Playint nearly all road/neutral site like UF did during ODome reconstruction all but guarantees a good RPI even if you don't win them all
