Still wrong. McBryde is our third guy at MLB, 2nd on the strong side behind Darrel this spring. Tough to break out there with Tre Williams and Darrell Williams also in that spot
You're just wrong at almost everything you have posted related to LBs and you know it. I can tell you know it by what you're leaving out

So a kid who was a 4* but needed some added weight ended up adding weight and is acceptable size for a LB/HybridLB role? That was unexpected

So you are complaining about our LB recruiting as you point out that we have more than enough LBs considering either Holland or a safety will sub in for a 3rd LB a decent amount.

You can call me a pussy all you want. If you don't see that we have a problem with depth at the LB position, even if every one of them pans out.......which never happens, then you are ignorant.

I'm arguing that our depth is a result of player development rather than recruiting. On paper, we have a pretty well ranked LB corps.
I see the issue you and everyone else sees. But it's not because of poor recruitment. It's poor roster management (moving guys away from the position to cover other needs) and lack of developing the entire depth chart. We can't take 5 guys at LB each year so we've gotta keep the guys we recruit to play LB at LB and develop them to a point where they can contribute at the position.
We're constantly moving our LBs to DE or the secondary or they don't develop into contributors and become special teams heros

How many guys do you want us to recruit every year then?
For a team that mostly plays 2 linebackers, we have 6 LBs plus Jeff Holland, TJ Neal and PJ3 for the 3Lb sets
If our LBs suck it is because we can't coach

We signed 4 two years ago, not all are still at the LB position, and one last year. What is our depth going to look like after this season? Do you honestly believe that is enough depth for a position like LB?

And we signed how many in the two years before that? You do realize that guys can play in college for four years right? We have plenty of depth at LB, if we get no production from our LB this year it is due to poor coaching.

2013
2 LBs
3* Cameron Toney
3* Kenny Flowers JUCO (graduated)
2014
2 LBs
5* Tre Williams
3* Deshaun Davis
2015
4 LBs
4* Jeff Holland
4* Darrell Williams
4* Richard McBryde
4* Montravius Atkinson
2016
2 LBs
3* Tre Threat
GT TJ Neal
That's 10 LBs signed over past 4 seasons for a system that will only have 2 on the field most of the time. Holland has moved to a 3-4 OLB/4-3 DE & Atkinson is playing that Money spot in a 4-2-5 look. So we will have 8 LBs on roster for 2 spots. That should be plenty
#'s have not been the problem recently. Last year we had 4 senior LBs and were able to redshirt a whole LB class. Now if you want to argue LB development that is something everyone on this board will agree on. We have consistently brought in 4* LBs and seen very little production on the field. I am hoping that changes with T-Will at coach and what I saw in the bowl game & spring game was exciting but I will be in wait & see mode until a full season

rumblings that the surprise commitment happening today for Auburn is Malcolm Askew!
Dude is a top 150 player and an in-state kid so that'd be huge to get him on board.

I was wondering what Niebuhr's tweet was about...Good to hear. It's been way too long since we had a 2017 football commitment.

This is the same thing I'm arguing. KKs said we had signed 4 4* LBs 2 classes ago and I'm saying that doesn't mean shite. Looks good on paper but that's it.

Where do yall get this shite? We play LSU, Arkansas, Bama, and UGa every year. Those are 4 run heavy teams. We are not paying nickle against that quarter of our schedule. Stop promoting this falsehood.

LSU and Arkansas are the only 2 that have snapped the ball from under center what even looks like remotely 50% of the snaps. Both Bama and UGA now do a lot of shotgun and pistol (mostly Bama on pistol) so I don't know why you seem to feel we'll just play these 4 teams in a phone booth. Stop promoting this falsehood.
For last year's Bama offense, through their first 13 games Kiffin called 50.9 percent runs and 49.1 percent passes.

So out of the 10 LBs signed 3 will contribute and 1 of those is a graduate transfer.

We just gave up the most rushing yards to a single RB in the history of Auburn football last year, but Bama is not a run heavy team because they play pistol. It is to laugh. you are probably one of the ones that say our defense was great at the end of last year too.

I assume you are not including Holland and by "contribute" you mean play most of their snaps at LB. That's not an argument on numbers. That's an argument on development/quality. I would agree we have outside of 2015 not done a great job of signing high quality LBs but again that has nothing to do with numbers. Either you are changing your argument or doing a poor job communicating it

Again this isn't #'s this is quality. You are right if you have 50 guys and only 2 play you have a problem but that's not because you haven't brought in 50 guys, means you brought in a ton of shitty players.
Five of the 10 will for sure see plenty of snaps (Williams, Williams, Davis, Holland & Neal). Guys like Atkinson, McBryde & Toney will see special teams time and possibly more. That's not terrible if those guys produce. If they don't produce then again that comes back to development & quality

Great? Hell NO!! Improving? Most assuredly.
ATP, with Travis at the helm, our LB's are in the best of hands IMO.
Revisit this next year, and see if your opinion hasn't changed. Not guaranteeing a darn thing, but if I had to bet, TW will get the most out of what we have.

u retarded bro? I literally posted exact statistics on bama's run/pass % to prove they're not a run-heavy plodding offense and you can't just admit you were wrong? Deer lourde.
FWIW I thought our defense was much better at the end of last year, yes. We held teams that were very good to under 30 points. I'd say that's taking steps forward.

I think us moving Rudy closer to the LOS will help against the run.
That and Kris Frost no longer being on the field.
