My only real comment about GG this whole time was that he looks to grow into a DT not DE when you see picture of him

I never melted or really talked about GG till I said I liked him last night

Welp. We're both right. You are in that he has been committed to them since March. I am in that he wasn't even a 4* til the last rankings. Also, you were thinking of him as a DT. He's a DE.

Even though we should finish well at DE in this class, how do we not offer an in state DE that has 171 tackles in a season? I mean wow! That's over 10 tackles a game for a D Lineman.

excerpt of Darrell Williams recruitment per AUC LINK
quote:

Last spring, Williams visited with Alabama with the intent on committing. Williams spoke with Nick Saban, talking to him about the possibility of a commitment. That's when Williams heard something he wasn't expecting. Alabama told Williams despite holding an offer, they wanted to see more of him in action during a summer camp.

Williams was surprised.

"I didn't know about that," Williams said. "I had an offer, now it's contingent on something else? They don't believe in me like Auburn does?"

(Right after DW committed to AU) "(Saban) said he was sorry for the confusion and he didn't understand I wanted to commit that quickly," Williams recalls. "He told me he liked my film and he wants me to come there."

He visited Auburn for numerous home games, growing his relationship with the Auburn coaching staff. Again, the more Williams visited Auburn, the stronger his commitment became and the harder it became for Williams to forget about Alabama's "confusion."

"It's hard to describe. Alabama is so high-maintenance, they try and make things more than what they are. It's so serious with Saban, and that's fine, but it's like a job and you're in the NFL and money is on the line. I get that with scholarships and the potential to play pro ball, but we're also in college.

"Auburn is a more genuine staff, school Auburn is like they're going to be taking care of me, it's a job, but it's life and we're supposed to have fun, too. Auburn is more real, this is what you're going to get, this is the kind of people we are, we aren't going to sugar coat anything. They aren't going to say things they don't mean, mislead you. There's more love at Auburn."

Ok E, give it to me straight. How much Jameson do I need to buy here? Enough for that victory lap around the rant, or enough to drown myself and ask for a simple burial at sea?

After seeing all these predictions on how we finish, is it assumed that we aren't taking an OT if we miss on Ivey?

52% of 2014 AP All-Americans weren't in top 20 at their position coming out of HS. As many 2 stars as 5 stars. LINK

Also, I'm sure it's been mentioned but there's no 5 stars playing in the Super Bowl this year.
