We are lightyears ahead of the Chiz defensive era. Who woulda thought our offensive minded coach would be putting together a good defensive team?
Gus believes in an assertive football team on O and D instead of that Vagina D Chiz used to try to protect the D when Gus's O was in full force. We had talent to be a better D back then but Chiz made sure they were coached to be passive instead of assertive.

Pick up him, potentially Slayton
In case anyone missed it we are now giving Slayton 1st shot at WR now if he comes to Auburn.

notes from AUC LINK

-John Burt's mom is still set on Texas which could make a flip difficult
-no new info on other 2015 targets
-AU may be the team to beat for high 4* 2016 WR Eli Stove
-C. Cox has changed his AU OV from the TAMU game to the SCe game.
-Ivey's OV will likely be one of the 2 games mentioned above
-Surprised Jawon Pass did not come to the LSU game
-no new info on Maurice Swain
-no new info on Tony Bridges. He will OV Ole Miss next week for the UT game
-no new info on Darian Roseboro

It is my opinion that we close with a Top 5 Class. Ivey plus a few 4* kids should put us right there. It really isn't about that though as much as rating/per player.

There is likely a couple of 4* bumps coming from current commits. We will get another 4* WR in this class and with Patterson visiting for AU/LSU instead of the biggest game in Ole Miss history you gotta think we are right in the thick of that race. Also Tray and Golson start their AU playing eligibility next season just like the rest of this class and are counted numbers wise to this class so if you extrapolate their HS star values this is a very highly rated class.

Our OL next year will be pretty ridiculous. (I assume Coleman goes pro)

LT- Braden Smith
LG- Kozan
OC- Dampeer (reports are he is solid)
OG- Golson? (backup RG FR year)
RT- A. Young (swap Golson /Young?)

That is confusing since it is so far away.

Not sure if serious. He's done nothing to warrant being drafted within even the third round.

I'd be very surprised if he goes pro after this year. He's got an NFL future, but he's not ready for the NFL after this year.

Agreed. We should be 7 deep on the OL going into next year and that's not factoring in the incoming freshman

Coleman
Drago
Kozan
Golson
Danzey
Dampeer
AY
and Robert Leff is developing surprizingly well also.

If I were at risk of Leukemia relapse, I would want to go pro early. That is just me though Coleman also wants to provide for his family. He is almost 5 years removed from HS now. He will be 'old' as a rookie if he left now, he will be way older if he stays

I have no reason to believe he goes or stays other than my thoughts on the issue though.

I'll also say I will be thrilled and excited if Coleman decides to stay. As far as quality individuals he is up there. I know in one class that did group projects, he consistently volunteered & completed all assigned tasks and was very dependable. More than can be said for your average starting FB player

This makes zero sense. He's not going to go pro and either get drafted late or not at all and get waaaay less money than he would if he stays another year and can develop into top round draft pick. Besides, if he stays another year or two, he can probably get a masters degree, so if football doesn't work out for him, he leaves college debt free with a masters.

Leaving after this year would do more harm than good for him, granted he doesn't absolutely blow up and is a guaranteed first round pick, which isn't likely at this point.

I believe Coleman is showing improvement, but I don't see him as draftable at this point. Not sure that is a word.

Slayton

Walker

Holland
Patterson
Roseboro

All possibilities. If we're in the championship hunt again this year, I wouldn't be surprised if more popped up on the radar.

Pretty sure one of the OL already committed is designated for that.
