The 2 and 3 are pretty interchangeable offensively so it doesn't really matter but Purifoy is a very skilled ball handler and passer. His lone weakness has been his shooting but he is greatly improved in that area. If it all works out I wouldn't be surprised to see Canty, Purifoy, Harris, Bowers and Reed all on the floor together for stretches this coming season.

I'll now accept nothing short of the final four next season.

Absolutely love the way Pearl has put the roster together in only a year.
This time last year we had almost no size at all. Now we have the biggest roster that I can personally remember at Auburn.
In the time that Pearl has had to work with the only other thing more that I could possibly ask for is another 7 footer.

Hoke still bringing the occassional nugget LINK

-Harris was privately committed to AU before yesterday (likely since he left his AU visit)
-staff sees him as a major upgrade from Granger
-he was brought in to start (I was wrong. Props to 24 being right & to Nino realizing the chances starting @ AU over other schools was a factor)
-Person was a huge factor Torrel Harris, the dad
-Torrel raved about Tyler learning from CCP
-Torrel said no other program they looked at had a Chuck Person
-The Harris family did their AU roster homework & felt Tyler was a good fit

Harris is fairly proven from BigEast and I just don't see us having someone start at the 4 over him.

I see Spencer needing at least a year to develop his offensive game, Reed is a wildcard at best in year 2, Granger is a TPOS and I bet Bowers starts at 5

This is the most potentially talented Auburn roster since when...like 2003?

Unfortunately, that doesn't say much.

I imagine coaching with be a bigger key to our success than "talent" winning games. I only see us being on par talent with majority of team.

I hope so. I'm just not going to expect him to be a difference maker just yet. After starting every game as a soph he only started 12 as a junior & I have not seen any news of an injury that may have been a factor. What I don't know & am wondering is did they get a new kid in last year that was better or did he regress a bit? His points & rebounds also dropped 2 & 1.5 respectively.

We will be more versatile next year, in that we won't have to rely on the same 1 or 2 guys every night.

From what I've read about it, He made more sense off the bench given Providence's situation and Runor that coach was trying to stop him from declaring for NBA too

They wanted a better defender/rebounder in starting lineup and It would give them a huge offensive boost from bench. i wish we had a legit offensive player who could come in fresh against either 2nd team or tired starters. Instead of hoping 2nd team doesn't blow it we could hope they would win it for us

Highlights from last season. Damn!

Are we going to rely on upperclassmen transfers perennially?

Exactly, and all of these guys can run the floor, and play D. The scoring will come off that IMO.

Bruce seems to like guys who can play more than one spot, and Harris looks like he can really help us.

I'm anxious to see New Williams now that he is healthy. I PM'd Jerry Meyer (247 B'Ball analyst) about him awhile back. He said that if he had not gotten hurt, he would have been ranked much higher. He is an incredible athlete.

Not last season. That was his Sophomore season. The 1 I alluded to him having a better year & starting every game as opposed to starting 12 last season. Potential is definitely there though.

Unlikely. Probably filler til Pearl gets his recruiting machine going full throttle.
