Bruce and his posse sat beside my table at the wellness center today for lunch, got to chat it up with him a little. It was pretty cool. It seems there is a dedicated group of arse-kissers that follow him around. It was pretty sad to watch.

It's funny for as much as I love Auburn sports and talking about the people, I really do not care about seeing them around.
Unless it wouldn't be rude to get an autograph at the time, seeing them in person is about the same as on tv to me

Of course seeing them around campus isn't a big deal, but I find it pretty cool to chat it up with them over lunch (specifically coaches). That's just me though.
ETA: Pearl is just an anomaly anyway. Most coaches don't interact like he does. AU is lucky to have him.

Does Bruce request that these people follow him around or are these people Bruce would rather not follow him around, but do for whatever reason? I'm just curious.

How would I know? All I can say decisively is they weren't coaches/players, or anyone in the AD that I recognize.

Not exactly. I moved away so I don't see the remaining people I know and the ones I did were low level AD people and GAs so standard turnover for grad/better jobs snagged a few.
Still a few things I'll hear around but I just read the rant now for 99.9% of things
Specifically for Pearl questions there is someone I know who knows the answer I'll see tomorrow or Friday

Met him soon after he had been hired on my 21st birthday at The Hound. My dad and I were walking in to get another drink at the bar and just happened to walk directly past them as Bruce and another coach waited on the third member of their party to use the restroom. I didn't even notice it, but my dad did, and being a foot and a half from him made sure to introduce himself and I and tell him that it was my 21st. He wished me a happy birthday, talked to us for a minute about basketball, and then realizing that we were both fans that kept up pretty closely with the AD told us that if we wanted to see the last coach he was going to hire to fill out his staff to look and see who came out of the restroom and walked off with them. He had already made the decision. I know that's long winded, but all that to say that he is an extremely personable guy. Could probably make as much in sales as he does as a coach.

All the newcomers minus Purifoy are enrolling for the summer. Per Mark Murphy, Purifoy had a very good year in the classroom and is expected to be cleared and enrolled when classes start in the fall.
