Mac Jones

Not sexy. I wonder if he could play in Atlana or if he's in a great fit.

I would not have been upset with drafting him and finding out after a year or 2 under Matt.

You want the highest IQ guy with a quick release for a long term pocket passer. You can go duel threat that has a lower IQ with a great upside shorter term, but when the physical ability drops around 30 years old, you’re left with not much. Cam Newton is the prime example of this. Trevor Lawrence will be a bust, and he isn’t even a true duel threat. I would want someone that runs a true pro style offense that plays against legit defenses with high IQ. Maybe Pickett.

A little early to be declaring this.

I agree on Pickett.

My biggest concern with Pickett is that he'll already be 24 by the time next season starts. Is he actually good or has he just benefitted from playing in that offense for 6 years in a weak ACC?

My first comparison is Brandon Weeden. That is not a good thing.

I keep seeing that we are still in the hunt. LOL

Anywho, I don't think we get a top-three pick. Where will we end up? 10?

This thread was an overreaction to a bad loss. I don’t believe we take a QB. Best D player available until further notice. With the higher cap next year, they can extend Ryan, trade D Jones, Jarrett, and Ridley for more draft capital. Then they can sign an impact FA or two and build through the draft.

I wonder what the market would be for him. I feel like a second rounder would be worth it. Not sure we could get that.

I’d say a 2nd.

I heard on the radio that 70% of the Falcons salary cap was in 5 players.

From a May 2020 article
Ryan 26 million
Jarrett 20 million
Matthews 12 million
Fowler 10 million
Jones 9 million

I say we don’t have a shot with these guys and we won’t have a shot without them.

Trade them all for draft picks and rebuild.

Eh. Mac is in the best situation of any of the 1st Rd QB's. Put him in JAX and he looks like garbage

You have no idea how the salary cap works. That's obvious.

Well, shite. Now I’m all confused.
Falcons won.
Saints lost.

Falcons still within a game, should be fun.

Looks like we are honing in on picking around 11-14. A couple of possibilities in that range that I like are the OLB Ojabo from Michigan and the OG from NC State, Ekwonu.

Rush the passer or blocking for the QB would be my preference.

I’m no expert but I bet they couldn’t get more than a 4th rounder for Ridley.
He’s sitting out with mental health issues.
