You got your wish.

Bralen Trice in the 3rd is a great pick. Kid is a beast.

Atlanta's "best" pick so far, and it is average.

I'm so glad Blank didn't buy the Braves.

Trice is a really good pick. Is there something wrong with Tampa? I thought they should have drafted him in the 4th but he has slid. Just wondering if someone knows something we dont.

I’d say that’s very likely.

I don't hate the Bertrand pick, but at this point any pick that isn't completely retarded I'm considering "good".

"R2 (35) ATLANTA FALCONS (VIA ARIZONA): DI RUKE ORHORHORO, CLEMSON
Pick Grade: Below Average

Atlanta gives up its third-round pick to move up eight spots and take the 67th-ranked player overall on the PFF big board. Orhorhoro is a powerful, athletic defensive lineman with some movability along the defensive line. That didn’t translate to high-level production at the college level, though, as he posted a sub-50th percentile pass-rush grade on true pass sets over the past two seasons. With several talented interior defensive linemen left on the board, this is a bet on his athleticism and continued development in the NFL."

"8. Atlanta Falcons: Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington - Grade: C-
That's our first stunner of the night, and it's truly a wild decision. Atlanta very much looked to be in win-now mode after signing its long-awaited veteran quarterback this offseason in Kirk Cousins, who landed a four-year, $180 million contract. Instead of addressing a dormant pass rush, however, Raheem Morris and Co. took ... another quarterback. Penix turns 24 next month, and it's not clear when he will see the field with Cousins in the fold. His live arm can unlock new possibilities for Drake London and Kyle Pitts, but he's hardly a pinpoint passer. He also has major issues when forced off his spot, and he needs to develop his comfort level in attacking the intermediate area."

"35. Atlanta Falcons (from ARI): Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson
In their 3-4 defense, the Falcons always can use size up front. Orhorhoro offers that — he’s 6-foot-4 and 294 pounds with 34-inch arms. He posted 24 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and nine passes defensed combined from 2021-23. He could be a good player long-term, but to make this selection this early in the second round — and trade away a third-round pick in the process — is a bit rich.

Grade: D-plus"

"74. Atlanta Falcons: Bralen Trice, Edge, Washington
A bit of an acquired taste, Trice’s lack of size (32 1/2-inch arms) and speed (4.72 40) certainly gave plenty of folks pause during the evaluation process. His work ethic, competitive drive and general violence at the point of attack, though, will make him a presence on an NFL roster. He might not be an every-down star, but he’s a high-floor player.

Grade: B-plus"

"143. Atlanta Falcons, JD Bertrand, LB, Notre Dame, Grade: C-
Bertrand led the Fighting Irish in tackles over the past three seasons and was a Campbell Trophy finalist in college. He's an effective blitzer but lacks the athleticism to keep up against top-tier athletes in the NFL. His instincts, motor, and preparation will offer rotational value. Considering the other prospects at the position still on the board, this is a reach."

I don't know that I've ever seen so many bad grades in one draft, truly an accomplishment.

Either Fontenot and Morris are evil geniuses (which seeing the draft selections under Fontenot prior to this year make me say this isn't the case) or the Falcons are going to be Lions/Bengals/Cardinals historical levels of bad for a while.
