Anyone else pumped to see Newcomb today? I'm a little pissed at the Braves, however. They had to know that people would want to see him in person, yet they wouldn't commit to announcing which game he was starting. Had they announced on Thursday, I would have 100% been there. Because of the last minute announcement, I had to go ahead and commit to something else.

Acuña getting the call to AAA. Hit another bomb last night. I really hope to god Coppy doesn't trade him. Even if it's for an Archer or even Stroman, I feel like Acuña is a once in a decade type of talent.

Acuna has to be on the absolute no trade list, even ahead of Maitan. He's not available in any trade, I don't care if it's Chris Sale and he's willing to sign a $1 per year contract for the next 7 years.

Very easy swing.

These Charlotte Knights announcers are horrible.

They definitely didn't seem to be as excited as I was. They also didn't seem to recognize they are in the presence of greatness.

They don't seem to be interested in talking about the game.

I knew Acuna was special, but even in my wildest dreams i never truly believed he was Lil Andruw.

I would have lost my shite if we had been the ones to pull the trade on Quintana or even Archer. I do not wanna give up Acuna, Maitan, Newcomb, or even Allard for that matter. I would like to see them flourish in our system.

Can I get a basic explanation as to why Quintana hauled that much from the cubs? Because frankly I will hard pass for what they gave up. But I could just be ignorant.

Maitan and Waters promoted to Danville. I will see them in action next week.

Braves also interested in Verlander, Fulmer and Profar.

Fulmer would cost a ton. Should be quite a bit more than Quintana/Gray/etc. You would get him for 5.5 years. Would be somewhere around the Sale price.

Albies + 2 premium arms (Allard, Soroka, Newk, Wright, Gohara, etc.) and a Muller/Weigel type imo assuming Acuna and Maitan are off the table.

It's an interesting idea but I don't think we're there yet.

Yea, I'm torn on getting a Fulmer/Archer type, but I'm starting to lean towards being ok with trading 2 of the top level arms and Albies if it nets a no doubt young ace. However, it's a risk. But so is hoping the young guys turn into aces.

I'm hearing everybody untouchable list. Nowhere do I see Newcomb. Is that understood or what? Kids becoming one of my favorites behind Inciarte and Freeman.

On my way to see the M-Braves. Will report back later.

ETA: Gohara starting today. Old school guy, looks a lot older than 20, reminds me of a lefty Luis Tiant without the quirky delivery.

ETA again: Gohara looked solid through 5 shutout innings, 4 hits and no walks, but ran out of gas in the 6th, giving up a two-run two-out double to Gabriel Guerrero (Vlad's nephew) to tie it. Final line 5 2/3, 2 ER, 7 H, 1 BB, 6 K, no decision.

I don't think Newcomb is untouchable.

Of all of these, I want Gray. He'd probably cost the least and he's starting to trend back to the high level pitcher he was two years ago.
