Thanks again, all. The wife called a bit ago. She sounded pretty wimpy, but it was nice to hear her voice.

When the doc called last night, he said he expected her to be discharged this afternoon. This morning, the wife said she didn't sleep through the night, so I'm letting her rest until I hear from her again.

The girls and I just finished visiting. The wife's going to stay at the hospital overnight due to pain and nausea. Her parents are now in town to help. Baby appears to be fine,

She should be fine. Risks of surgery to OB patients are actually very low.
The biggest problem with appendicitis in pregnancy is delay in diagnosis(the gravid uterus makes the diagnosis more difficult to make sometimes.) Kudos to the Drs that got her taken care of in a timely fashion.
Glad things turned out well. In a few weeks she should be pretty much back to normal.
