These seem like the three most realistic options atm:

Outback Bowl

Big Ten vs. SEC Raymond James Stadium
Tampa, FL 1pm / ABC

Belk Bowl

ACC/ND vs. SEC Bank of America Stadium
Charlotte, NC 5:30pm / ESPN

Franklin Amer. Mort. Music City Bowl

SEC vs. Big Ten/ACC/ND Nissan Stadium
Nashville, TN 3:30pm / ESPN

Belk would be the most disappointing for me. Outback would be the most prestigious of the bunch and we haven't played in Florida in awhile. Nashville is a fun city and traveling there would be the easiest of the group. I guess I would go with the Outback Bowl but wouldn't be too upset with heading to Nashville instead.

I've always had a good time at Professor Bowl but it's been years since I've been there.

Was looking at Nashville Hotels the other day. That will end up being the most expensive bowl trip I go on so far. I spent a bunch of money in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl, but did not have to spend near the same amount there as I will in Nashville for lodging. Ive always considered Dallas a very reasonable trip price wise for the Cotton Bowl. Memphis is not all that expensive either.

Couple with the fact it is Nashville, it is New Years weekend and the decent spots are $250-$400 a night.

I went there about two weeks ago and ending up paying $250~ a night with a discount because of a convention I was with

It was a nice hotel only two or three blocks from Broadway so I couldn't complain too much

Outback Bowl but Music City bowl is probably the destination unless we lose to Mizzou.

Yea. Im sure there are places to stay outside of downtown, but I mean, if you're going to Nashville, why stay out away from all the stuff to do?

I want to be in the middle of the city not very far from the stadium and that is going to cost a penny or two for sure.

I also like the matchup of playing Iowa in the Music City. I mean, at least they don't have a mobile QB. They run the ball, but all we have to focus on is stopping the RB and none of their RBs are Guice like.

Iowa in the Music City Bowl would be my preferred matchup.

Yep, it was my first time to Nashville. I knew their bar scene was great but was still pleasantly surprised. It was great being able to walk 5-10 minutes and be back at the hotel.

I feel really good about a mid-tier big10 match up. I think that really plays into our strengths.

I wonder what Uber will be charging that weekend considering it will be New Years.

Where did you stay on your trip there? I usually stay at a Hilton but will not be using any of my points on the Nashville trip because it will drain them all.

The Hilton is $539/night and the Hilton Garden Inn by Vanderbilt is $309/night.

I am not paying over $500 for a night to lay my head.

Music City

I've been looking for a good excuse to go back to Nashville. I've always thought that Broadway St. is a way less trashy version of Bourbon St.

Gotcha. I've never stayed at an Aloft, but it's only $209 a night. Hopefully we know the destination in a week or so so we can start booking trips.

I was going to say Professor as well. Had many good times there back in the day and didn't live far from there.

But Florida in the winter is always going to be my pick. Are we ever going to get to a bowl outside of the State of Tennessee? You can do Memphis and Nashville only so many times but Nashville would at least be ok--just beware the boot shiners Downtown.

Didn't really have a choice

I have also paid much more than that for rooms in other cities, never want to but sometimes you don't really have a choice.
