I didn't mind the fake. We weren't doing anything on offense and had to try something. We had the blocking set up right, the punter didn't follow his blocking.
His decision to not go for it on 4th and 1 was horrible though

Our defense was gassed at that point, he had to try something to keep them off the field. Which was all the more reason for him to go for it on 4th and 1 earlier.

He cuts outside instead of in and he easily had the first. Just a bad read by Baker.

We're supposed to be a physical, smash mouth team. He punted on 4th and 1 and ran a gimmicky fake on 4th and about 5. Enough said

Like I said above, I thought the call was fine. If Baker runs outside his blocks instead of cutting back in then he gets the first. That's what you get though with a guy who never runs the ball.

It's the fact that he called it at all that is the problem. Everyone saw it coming. Everyone. Meanwhile, we couldn't line up and get a yard which has been a problem in more than just this game this year.

with proper execution that fake works even with everyone seeing it coming. Baker fricked up his run by cutting inside. It happens. I personally liked the call. It says we're trying to win not playing not to lose. In a game where we litterally have nothing to lose by losing and everything to gain by winning.

My hound dog was lying on the floor and settled in for the game. But when the fake punt happened, she got up, stretched, eased herself out of the room and never returned. There may have been some cussing going on at the time and certain 'trigger words' tend make her get a bit tense, so I think that was the problem. But seriously, I came close doing the same thing myself. It was pretty bad.

After how our offense did i think you have to try something. Anything to get something good coming your way. The defense did great their kicker sucked and up until that point Bama had no red zone offense but moved the ball within the 20 with ease so while field position was important it's not like the defense stopped them til the red zone anyways.
