The whole of Conway is a much different beast than it was 20 heck even 10 years ago.

Conway in the 70's was deader than disco, Forth Smith was happening back then tho.

In the 90's you went to the Supper Club or the VFW (and lawdamercy the things you'd see there at times) for drinking and carousing or the greenhouse for parties. These whippersnappers now wouldn't know what to do with themselves if that was all that had.

You do know back in the day Fort Smith is where they trained the Shah's personal pilots right?

Compared to Plainview, Fort Smith was friggin NYC.

Conway snuck up on everyone and started to get prosperous.

But if it was a good Greenhouse Party there would be a couple hundred people there. I don't think the students today experience that. It was also cool having Hendrix in town, they had some good parties and their shirttails parties were fun and unique (a party that originated in 1913 after Hendrix beat Ole Miss the students had a midnight parade In their pajamas and have done so yearly since)

I don't know that Fayetteville has a couple of hundred people parties now. Oh sure, there are some large frat parties where you are mostly concerned with making sure some perv doesn't slip a roofie in your drink but not a large gathering of the student body like that.

Those greenhouse parties were fun. I'm telling off on myself but one night I left because someone pissed me off (I was an occasional angry drinker back in the day) and ended up in a ditch by the car lots. A cop came and stopped, I had friends driving by but scared to stop (giving me the OMG I'm sorry looks) because they'd been drinking too. Then some random angels- who I can't even tell you their names- pulled up, told the cops I'd called them and they were taking me home and he let me go. Thank you random saviors.

Ah, quit hatin' on Plainview. It's nice, quiet, and peaceful there, even if it is small.

And I guess Fort Smith was hopping at one time--when Judge Parker was in office.

Probably not hopping but some were hanging around for sure.

The good old days of Grand Necktie parties and all.
