Why anyone would eat anything from them just astounds me, unless they has the poors and can't afford to buy organic meat locally.
This shite will kill you.

if you eat chicken from kfc/popeyes/wendys/sonic etc.. then you have eaten tyson chicken. also I understand your disposition to processed poultry but buying tyson products indirectly supports the hogs.

Why just Tyson??? there are several who load em up with growth hormones, steroids, antibiotics, antivirals, and by the time they are done they are huge... cant even walk on their own legs.
What other choices are there in Arkansas for the average salaried families?

I don't really think so. also the company in Arkansas that is competing with tyson is pilgrim pride I believe but I'm not sure if it is even them anymore. I believe a new company has replaced them.
the name of the company is twin rivers that replaced pilgrim's pride. im sure they also use the same methods as tyson to try and compete. I do not believe there is a local oranic chicken supply.
I believe the all natural chicken is developed in California because I don't think they agree with Tysons methods.

these are just the companies I've seen around the river valley. there is surely more than the few I listed. I have family in the chicken business that I'm sure could tell me all of them. I'm only aware of the few I have seen.

there are plenty of farmers right here in Arkansas that raise poultry, beef, pork, fish and pretty much whatever you want organic.
$1 spent with a local grower goes a helluva a lot father than buying an overpriced bag of Tyson chicken nuggets from Krogers. Some farms are subscription farms and have delivery service. Why anyone would keep buying the bulk of their farm raised foods fro big box stores just blows my mind.
Also, the service and friendships from buying local are priceless.
Great farms here in Central, NEA, and even some excellent ones in NW Arkansas. Buy more than your fruit and veggies locally, start buying your meats and cheeses.

I've seen articles about that cheese company- I want to try it.
Regarding chicken- SAMs has an organic they sell and it's from a farm in Rogers. My mom says it tastes like chicken used to taste. It is good, smaller than the normal you see, not roided up.

Not sure about that chicken, but organic can mean a lot of different things. It still could be bleached and full anti-biotics. Research each product, just because the gov approves the organic label doesn't make it safe. Stores put all o-called organic in the same area, but a good product could be sitting right next to one that is full of shite.
imo

I had one in the freezer and looked- I said organic and really it just says no this and no that etc. Here's the farms site.

Thanks for the link
Pros:
Forester, Arkansas
Doesn't inject with marinades, sodium, or other additives
No Anti-biotics
No hormones
No Roids
They don't feed their Chickens animal parts/mystery meat. You know, the product that's in those hotdogs and sausages that everyone eats.
Cons:
Still raised in Super Houses
Fed GMO feed
Not sure who processes their chickens
I would definitely say better than Tyson/others but would venture to say that for the same price, you could find a local farmer to supply you with fresh grass fed chicken.
At least they are moving in the right direction.
