Marcus wants nothing but exposure for the endorsement deals and Hollywood in-roads.

If Malik gets drafted by say Milwaukee or OKC look for a hold out and forced trade to the Nets, Knicks, Hawks, or the L.A. Teams.

why does this bother you? He's starting a business and you do everything you can to make it successful.

All I got to say is: bye!
You had a shot to be something special in your home state, but passed it up for some glitzy whore. See ya!

And Marcus, if it's true that he wanted to commit to the Hogs and you 'wouldn't let him', then you can GTFO of Arkansas too.

It sucks and I really wanted him at Arkansas, but he doesn't owe the university or any of us fans shite.

You're right, he won't owe us anything because he certainly won't GET shite from us.

Football players seem to have in state loyalty.

Not sure I'd blame not getting Monk on an entire generation.

I'm far more pissed at marcus than I am malik. Marcus has gotten lots of free school, opportunities to play professional, and chances to be on a coaching staff here. I can't imagine why he'd say this isn't the place to go, clearly we take care of our own.

This doesn't happen in the NBA, really.

Doesn't as in he currently does not owe anything to a bunch of narrow eyed mouth breathing "almost" high school graduates.

You know STLhog said a bunch of stupid shite in the Tenpenny thread but he did make one good point about how dumbass fans talk so much shite and direct so much hate towards players leaving the state.

He's a child with a lot of talent and a lot of people in his ear. Stop being a frick stick acting like he has personally done you wrong by choosing Kentucky.

You could be right, but it just depends on how he builds his brand and companies from Arkansas could be asking him for shite (endorsements, speaking gigs, charity).

Judging from my tweeter feed I'm going to just assume that brother Marcus is in hiding.

Marcus Monk's linkedin pic.

"Think Outside the Box" - real original.

Marcus is going to have to coach high school basketball for the rest of his life after he realizes he's an empty suit that can't ride his younger brother to success.

Marcus can't help how bright he shines, he's a natural star. Come join the Monk Brand, where a washed up athlete will make you shine too!

I'm very aware we beat them twice... I meant in recruiting.

Meh...for whatever reason, the kids that leave never seem to be missed. I think it's a natural screening process. That lack of loyalty and "following the money" attracts a breed we'd rather not have truthfully. Name one that left that we'd want back in hindsight. I can't recall any.

James Anderson.

Although Heath had no chance of landing him.

We didn't really even try. Nolan would've had him.

Jason Harrison.

Although another one we didn't really recruit. He made us pay for sure.
