I really dislike Riverfest. I make it a point to leave and go to the lake every year during that weekend.

Not surprising that I head to North Arkansas during Memorial Day weekend...Until 3 years ago, we had camped at Erbie on the Buffalo for like 12 straight years.
Now unfortunately, our US Government has found a way to shut down one of the best campsites in the US's FIRST NATIONAL RIVER. I mean...You don't have to clean the shitters...just mow the damn sites.
I have now been spending my time in Mammoth Springs every year since.

I think my biggest complaint was that they staggered the line up week by week like it was something to be excited about. When week one came out and announced Buckcherry, I just couldn't be bothered with the rest.

They did have Widespread Panic recently, but most years it's terrible

Depends on what you are into, some might think that is the best line up ever.
Rocklahoma brings in "big acts", but the line ups seem kinda "meh" to me some years while "can't miss" the others depending on who is playing.
I wish we had something as awesome as the Amnesia Rock Fest Canada is having with a bill of:
Weezer
Motley Crue
Alice in Chains
Five Finger Death Punch
NoFx
Me First and the Gimmies
Dead Kennedys
Danzig
Black Flag (w/Henry Rollins)
MegaDeath
Suicidal Tendencies
Reverend Horton Heat
MxPx
Guttermouth
Alkaline Trio
No Use for a Name
H20
All That Remains
and more.
That is almost worth a plane ticket...

Ditto. I've been to Riverfest once in my life and that was over 10 years ago when I was a fraternity rushee. I've spent quite literally every other Memorial Day at the lake.

Saw them a couple of times on Dickson in college. Always a great show.
Ditto.
I still have them on a spotify list I listen to when I'm doing busy work.

They do, but only the top4 would be a candidate for an act they would bring in, I would like to see several of the rest for the first time or again, those bands generally do not tour in this region.

This should have been called the no love for Riverfest thread.

yeah, it's not like people are being FORCED to go... and it's put on by the JUNIOR LEAGUE for goodness sakes. What do you expect?
Anyway, weather permitting, there will more than plenty of folks there.

What? Am I to feel bad because someone from the JUNIOR LEAGUE put this together? They did a bad job and should feel bad.
