This conference has changed, and we're behind the curve

Right now, Ole Miss is beating Bama's arse, and this is the second year in a row.
When we hired Bert, I thought "we haven't been able to beat the big boys by passing, so let's man up and play them at their own game." Well, it looks like this conference has undergone a paradigm shift and we're once again behind the curve. Between teams like A&M, Auburn, Ole Miss, and State, you have 4 teams constituting the spread element of the SEC, and right now those programs are either on the upswing or have enjoyed major success the last few years. Hell, even Bama has started adopting hurry up tempo and spread concepts.
And here we are, the big, slow kids who thought we had gotten ahead of the curve with our philosophy but are now yet another step behind.
We're the kids who finally got the Super Nintendo a week before the XBox came out. We're the guy who got the Motorola Razor a month before the iPhone came out. We're the guy who had a bunch of Pets.com stock. We're the guy investing in pre-paid phone cards in 2000. We're the kid who got a bowl cut in 2003. We're the guy who drops $50k a new Tahoe a month before they release a new body style with tons of upgrades.
Frick.

I am ready for the fans to say, we aren't paying to see kids get 2.8 gpa's we are paying to see wins. If we wanted to see academic success we would head over to The Walton School of Business for a debate of some sorts.
I don't care if they can read Dick and Jane, spell cat, or do long division. All I care about is if they can win.

What hasn't changed in this league is winning by fielding a good and consistent defense.
