Kurt Voigt: "It's not a stretch to say Arkansas is playing more for Mike Anderson's job than the NCAA tourney from right now until the end of the season."

Pat Forde: "Arkansas trying to recuse itself from NCAA tourney in one week. Lost to truly awful Mizzou Saturday, now down 22 at home first half to Vandy."

Pat Forde: "I mean, it's almost impossible to do what Arkansas is doing. Mizzou was winless in SEC. and to follow that up w this half vs 11-12 Vandy..."

"Vanderbilt beats Arkansas 72-59. Back-to-back brutal losses for the cratering Razorbacks. Hostile vibe in BWA tonight from fed-up fans." - Jimmy Carter

"Back to back bad losses for Ark validates questions that have been swirling about Mike Anderson's future. NCAA-T feeling like a must for him." - Bo Mattingly

Wally Hall: "This may be the smallest crowd for a home game since Lanny Van Eman was the head coach."

Welp....

CMA, gotta get something going or this may end faster than I and others believe.

At this point I still think 2 years. Jeff Long will cite the recruiting happening, and APR, and etal.

2 years folks. I am beginning to hate it, and perhaps hope I am wrong.

There was no reason for tonight. No fire in the team at all. Just listless and pathetic.

Posting Wally Hall quotes on here is a ban worthy offense.

I'm genuinely embarrassed that Wally Hall is a famous Arkansas sportswriter.

My God... the program has reached the point where people actually agree with what Wally is saying. I knew the situation was bad but this is worse then I imagined.

I'm far from a reactionary armchair AD, but here are my thoughts -- if the bottom falls out in basketball and we still keep Anderson, and then we have a mediocre season in football in 2017 (e.g. 6-6, 7-5), I feel like the BoT will start making a move against Long.

When you're the AD for a decade and you have to point to APR and graduation rate in lieu of athletic success, and the fans are either apathetic or in outright revolt, it's time to go.

Somewhat. In typical Wally fashion, he was wrong with the actual data. Dudley actually called him out on it too which was kind of humorous. While the crowd was small, it most definitely wasn't the smallest in 40+ years.

Jeff Long was John White's pick, and it shows.

Ignorant.

Everyone was praising both of the hire and extensions at the time, it just didn't work out and all you rednecks are DERP DERP HINDSIGHT!! It gave us stability and unfortunately it just hasn't materialized. Bottom line is he got both deals done, which were big time hires at the time.

HEY JEFF LONG, CAN YOU HEAR ME?!? I GOT SUMPTIN TO SAY TO YOU!!!

He's not going to fire Mike mid season, but if we don't go to the NCAA, I'm sure he will make a move for the right guy.

Same goes for Burt.

how sure is this exactly? JL hasn't proven much to me other than he is a great business man financially speaking.

I think he is an above average AD. However, this is opinion only.

Exactly. Long has grown the revenue streams and the Razorback brand to a much more national level than ever before. He gets the business side of things.

Yes, it hasn't shown on the field as of yet but I appreciate the guy giving coaches 5-6 years to establish a program instead of taking the Tennessee football approach and sending another head coach through the turnstile every couple of years only to ultimately fail.

All that being said, I'm off Mike's bandwagon. I will just let apathy consume me until we make a change or Mike pulls off some sort of miracle run.

What standard are we holding him to anyway?

Every single AD around the country misses on hires.

Look at Florida, both UTs etc etc.

a standard that is much higher than CBB's record and MA's record following the last 4/6 seasons..

A standard higher than what DVH is currently achieving.

Our revenue sports are exactly that, about revenue and not competition, or so it seems.

Still waiting on you to name an athletic program or AD that we should be striving to match....
