Is nominal. We would still be looking at the Belk bowl. No big deal.
Sure it sucks to lose to State, but we really didn't belong in that game anyway. We got lucky with the three turnovers.

A chance at going 6-2 in the SEC would have been validation for the program.
Hoping to not go 4-4 in the SEC changes the complexion of the season.

Really? With 4 losses we could end the season with a decent rank. Not to mention we should be a game or two better than 6-4. It's these games here and there that will keep us where we are, at the shite arse bottom of the SEC. Oh well, it's who we are. I'm glad to see everyone is so happy with 6-5 and finishing in the bottom half of our fricking division. 6-5 is not good by the way. It's kinda shitty in fact. But hey!!!! Next year we may be 7-4 at this point!!!! Print the motherfricking shirts!!!!

Wrong and wronger. The complexion of this season was already tarnished in week 2. Anything after that is gravy.
When we pad our conference record with shite teams like LSU, nobody is fooled.

we're not going to lose to Missouri

Do you have a vested interest in the program or are you just venting? It's not like going 7-5 instead of 8-4 is going to make any difference.

There has still been some forward progress this season.
Winning SEC games on the road.
Wins over Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee. (And hopefully, Missouri) Yes, all those teams are down a little this season maybe, but still, good wins.
Still a chance to finish fairly strong with wins over Mizz and maybe a bowl game win.

Venting.

Nothing wrong with that.

finishing 6-2 with 6 straight wins would have been a huge amount of momentum into the recruiting season

And we thought a Texas Bowl win would propel us into 2015 and we lost to Toledo.

The Texas Bowl wins wasn't that big in my mind because I knew the Texas was horrible. The big thing for me was just getting to a bowl game after not going to one in two years.

This says it all. Just getting to a shitty bowl game is good enough.

It wasn't about the quality of the bowl that we went to it was about the extra practice time that we got from the bowl. it is very important to the development of players.

NO ONE is normally satisfied with just making a bowl. But making a bowl after the years we've had after Petrino is a welcome respite. People tend to forget everything this program went through in the past few years.
Name another program that fired their successful head coach, hired a literal clown, and then had to make yet another hire just to get out of the doldrums.

I hope Bert turns out to be all y'all hope or think he is. He can't seem to learn from his mistakes, but who knows.

Yeah as much as it pissed me off to lose after such an insane day by Allen, in the grand scheme of things means nothing. We're already in a bowl which gets up the extra practice time, recruits aren't going to make a decision based on us having 5 losses instead of 4.

The difference is a win versus a loss.
I'm going out on a limb here and saying the team (like most fans) like wins and the more the better. It's not about what same tier bowl they go to. Not at all.
I'm over it. We lost. Our defense is as useful as a broken condom, but the bright side is Mizzou's offense is putrid. We won't have to be even subpar. Hopefully.

Can still finish 8-5 and 5-3 in league play.
After starting 1-3 overall, I'd have laughed at anyone who told me our record could end up that way. Especially in league play.
