Didn't deserve to win. The whole team came out flat. They didn't want to win.

What? That was a hard fought game where we came out with an L.

Well played by both teams.

frick you. They wanted it too much and pressed. That's why bonfield swung at 2 in the dirt and Fletcher swung when the ball hadn't even left the pitchers hand yet. frick you

Totally agree. That's the yin/yang of being a "hitting" team. When the bats are there, it's a natural thing and just sort of happens like magic. When the bats aren't there... great hitting teams know how to take what they can get until the magic happens... decent hitting teams do what we did tonight: try to force it. We had repeated moments when we just needed to put the ball into freaking play to score or keep shite alive... but we were swinging for the fences and rushing the pitch count.

How many really tough at bats did we give them tonight? Very, very few that went beyond 5 pitches that I remember.

Both teams were terrible at the plate. Mizzou St struck out, what? 16 times?

Nothing pisses me off more than watching our guys let fast balls go right down the middle.

Taking the first pitch is nearly as dumb as playing small ball. If you get a fastball in your zone, swing the fricking bat.

That goes for any time that you are up in the count.

Always next year.

I'm sure we can all agree that DVH actually trying to win the SEC for a change caused the team to be gassed and not ready to win a regional in front of a home crowd against southwest Missouri state. That's asking too much, just look at LSUndoend all that energy Winning the sec and have nothing left for the tourney that matters.

Really you just have to be proud of the team to go out there and have fun like that, there were no losers out on the diamond today, you really have to question why we keep score in these contests like watching these youngsters out there having fun isn't enough.

But since we do keep score maybe next year's team will take advantage of DVH putting them in a situation to succeed at filling up a spot in the vast empty trophy case called his career. Maybe these youngsters who do turn pro will no longer despise this great man and do what they are able to contribute to the program's future like his predecessor so enjoyed during his career.

Really the only question after tonight is are we a hitting team or a pitching team next year or do we finally see a complete team take the diamond? That's enough to fuel the excitement until next February I for one can't wait.

I enjoyed the regional. I'm not a baseball fan but the hogs entertained the shite out of me for 4 days and i'll watch every time i can next season.

That's pretty much exactly how I feel too, Yum Yum Sauce.

(Dammit if I don't love some yum yum sauce, it's 10 in the morning and I could have hibachi right now and pour you on the top. Slllurp. )

Exciting core returns next season.

Have to hope the draft doesn't hit us too hard next week.

That was brutal.

Absolutely hate losing to them and sad we couldn't get it going more. Give up only 3 runs and can't win at a home regional to close it out. That's just not showing up, plain and simple.

I don't think Stephan, Spanburger or Shaddy leaves.

With all the freshman pitchers that we have now, pitching should be very good.

Campbell will be a beast since his arm is healing great.

I see another 40+ win season in 2018

Expect Knight, Stephan, Spanberger, Bonfield and Shaddy all to sign.

Will Shaddy really be drafted? I just don't see him as a professional player.

It will suck to lose Bonfield and Spanberger but they both had some holes in their offense too. I'm more concerned about losing Knight and Stephan.

Why all three hitters?

I can certainly see Spanberger, but why the other two?

No way unless someone is desperate.

Liability at the plate.

Not hating on the kid, but
Arledge has a better chance.

There's 40+ rounds, he'll absolutely be drafted.

Agreed he'll be drafted, but I don't see him leaving unless he's drafted in the top 25 rounds... BTW, there are 40 rounds.
