So my dad text me earlier and said that he heard Chavis as DC and Steve Caldwell coming back as DL coach. Anyone else heard this? Caldwell was the last DL coach we had that actually pressured a QB.

I hope it's true. Not sure where my dad got the info so if it's bs I won't be shocked. Steve was a great fit here under Petrino. Would be happy to have him back. I think he's been coaching at Boise St.

Caldwell would be a great addition. I would guess Ron Cooper is coming with Chief as well.

Have seen no official release on this, what is driving and how solid is the source?

Just looking over his past few years at LSU and aTm... I'm not terribly excited. His good defenses at LSU were largely because of great athletes.

What can he do with average athletes?

So who else do we get that has a better resume? A belk bowl game with an interim and on his way out really isn't the best way to judge him. Especially when A&M can't get first downs aside from about 3 drives.

We literally have nowhere to go but up on defense. So I fail to see why we're so fricked. Especially when A&M offense continues to give WF a short field.

Caldwell resigns at Boise, it’s happening

Hyams
Boise State DL coach Steve Caldwell has resigned after 4 years. Speculation has him joining the Arkansas staff under new coach Chad Morris. Caldwell was a 14-year assistant at Tennessee (1995-08). He played at Arkansas State and has coached at ASU, Pacific, Arkansas and Nevada.

I would like to see him back on the hill. He might give some life to a Chavis defense.
