You should've seen it fifteen years ago.

That's exactly what I was thinking - country club, supper club and vfw if you wanted a drink. It amazes me the change in Conway over the years.

You should have seen it in the early to mid-60's. I lived there for a short time back then. I'm gonna say it had perhaps 15,000 people or less. But it has always been a decent place IMO. Yea...I'm old.

As I was told by so many college professors....If you can remember the 60s, you weren't there, man...

Oh, I did my share of that as well. I guess I'm just an anomaly.

...but there's a lot of truth in what they're saying...no doubt about it. Sometimes I wonder how I survived. Then I remember that Keith Richards did as well.

All you guys from Conway bitching about it can suck it

I live in Fort Smith, 90,000 people with a college and not a damn thing to do either! Only thing we've got going on is a strip club 5 minutes into Oklahoma. I'd much rather live in Conway

I live in NYC, nothing to do here either...

But seriously, you guys could have it worse. I grew up in Batesville and it just broke 10,000 residents. It's in a dry county and there are only a couple places you can go to get a drink (which is a recent development). Everything closes really early. I'm glad I never had to live there as an adult.

My fiancee grew up in De Witt, which is quite the boring shite hole.

My personal opinion is that there is only one good place to live in Arkansas, and that's Fayetteville (and maybe Bentonville with the changes that are going on up there).

edit: I guess I should clarify. There are lots of good places to live in Arkansas, and I'm thankful I grew up there, but I would only move back for Fayetteville. The biggest downside to living in Arkansas is that there's really no urban area there, and the nearest big city to most of the state (Memphis) is pretty shitty compared to the rest of America's cities.

I'll be in NYC for the first time this weekend. I'll be making my way back to Little Rock next week for the first time in about 6 months for the holidays.

Yep. My mom has 3 sisters and a brother and they all live there. All my cousins grew up there and my grandpa's farm is there.

If ur driving down 165 from Dewitt to gillett you'll come to a big right turn in the road, or it y's off to the left to go to tichnor.....everything straight in front of you is our land.

Place hasn't changed. They got news that there k-6 grade will be kept for another year though. That's good.

Was down there for thanksgiving and ill be down there in a couple weeks for Christmas. Great place. The rice paddy is awesome.
