Diaco does have an aptitude for defense and his UConn teams showed that though it was difficult with so little offense to balance it out. With several major programs searching for defensive coordinators (like Colorado and Florida), Diaco might find a new home quickly.

I saw on the ESPN this morning that Diaco has been fired and meant to come here and post his name.
His defenses at Notre Dame were legit, especially in 2012. I'd take him in a heartbeat if/when Bert finally decides to cut his losses with Smith.
It might actually be somewhat plausible given the fact that he was a linebacker at Iowa when Bielema was a senior and then a GA. Diaco was a GA after he graduated, at which time Bielema was a position coach.

I checked out a UConn board earlier and their fans were describing his defense as a read and react defense with no blitzing. Same thing was echoed by a poster on the coaching changes board. Sounded very familiar to our current situation.

At this point, coaching hires really won't happen until after Bowl season. They happen right after the regular season before Bowl prep, and then after Bowls. Just wait till January and the rumors will fly.

Conjecture I know, and Diaco was a Freshman during CBB's SR year, and CBB was a GA for a while with Diaco playing as well.
They have connections.
Just slinging stuff, see if it sticks.
