I know Chris and Suzon well from their Fayetteville days. Some of my best memories occurred at Chesters. Downstairs JRs had some great shows as well (some Chris booked and some Wade Ogle did). Wade is still booking good stuff at what's left of JRs but the space is pretty limited.

Saw Helmet there last weekend, love a good show in a small venue. Wade is booking the best shows in Fayetteville. Helmet was a Pointless Promotions show tho.

Clunks had some of the best shows in the state there for a few years. Used to make the drive up regularly. Pretty sure the white stripes played there on 9/11.

White Stripes played Dickson Theater, I think Modest Mouse played Clunks.

White Stripes played JRs Lightbulb Club the first time.

I used to have a video recording of that show on a DVD somewhere. Not sure what happened to it.

Someone needs to convince Mumford and Son's agents that they need to do a popover in NWA. I went to their show in Portland a few years ago and it was an awesome all day affair -- local food truck, bands from 12pm - 9pm, local breweries selling beer and cocktails. It was all around an awesome experience.

Rumor is that Phish is being announced next week also.

Either way, this year is way better than last years all country fest at the AMP

I'll believe that when I see it. A Phish lot in Rogers would be a shite show. They'll be camped out in the Cross Church parking lot, bathing in the fountains, and hanging from the crosses.

Modest Mouse played in 2000 and again in 2001. In 2000 they played at Schulertown, which I think was a building on Watson and West. That show was the Shins, Black Heart Procession and Modest Mouse. Great lineup.

The next year was at Clunk and !!! opened. I never understood why you'd want a party band to open for you, because !!! killed it. They played the next night at a house on third street in LR. Total blast.

Clunk is a great person and was a great venue. I saw Les Savy Fav, Ted Leo, the Dismemberment Plan (and Death Cab for Cutie, which was a fine show), Pinback AND MANY MORE. Also there was a sweet Soophie Nun Squad show, but not nearly as fun as the one at the Dickson Street Theater years later.

I also saw Ween at Dave's on Dickson, which brought out the weirdest crowd assembled I've ever seen in Fayetteville.

Schulertown was a single-story former warehouse that sat where the midrise Legacy condo building now sits, on Watson, one block off West. There's another 5 to 7 story building under construction behind Legacy right now.

If I even knew who most of those bands were...

I am still stuck in the 80's and love the Hair Metal stuff...

Motley Crue
Def Leppard
Kiss
Metallica
Tesla
Dokken
Whitesnake
Skid Row

Type of stuff... but also love Clapton, VH, etc...

That would be big, I don't think Phish has ever played in Arkansas before.
