My buddies and I are planning to go up to Fayetteville on Oct 8th for the Bama game. I have a few questions:

1) How is parking? Are there places near the stadium that you can park without a pass?

2) How early before the game would you guys suggest getting there for a big game?

3) Do they check for flasks? We LSU fans pride ourselves on being drunk during football games

4) Do you guys get mad when people stand up and cheer for like 3rd downs and stuff. Nothing pisses me off like someone in DV asking me to sit down during a big moment because they can see.

5) Would it be better to get a hotel after the game or drive back to LR? Seems like a pain to have to drive 2.5 hours especially if the game is at night

Looking forward to coming. Will be a true hog fan on Oct. 8th. Frick the gumps

1. Not really. You might buy parking at Leverett Elementary. Best bet as long as you are young and spry is to park on Dickson in the Spring St Garage, Walton Arts lot, or side streets. $5 gets you all day parking.

2. Depends on what your game plan is. I like to see the band do their pregame stuff, which starts 20 minutes before kickoff. You might need to get to the stadium 30 minutes because it might take you 10 minutes to get in, depending on gate.

3. I've never had an issue taking alcohol into games. They don't pat down or anything like that. Just don't be obvious and you'll be fine.

4. It depends on the part of the stadium you are in, to be honest. Big games, you shouldn't have much of an issue.

5. Another good reason to park on Dickson, by walking over the huge hill, you save yourself from being caught in the clusterfrick that is post-game campus traffic. Virtually none of it filters through the Dickson St area just because of how the streets are lined up. From Dickson, you could head down 71 B (College Ave/School St) and pop out onto the freeway south of most of the bullshite.

Hotel prices get jacked up and you'll probably have to drive north for half an hour (more like an hour after a game) to get to the hotel. My preference is to just drive back same night.

If I were you and didn't have a tailgate waiting for me, I'd park in the Dickson area a couple of hours before the game. Go to any of the dozens of bars/restaurants in the area. Drink/eat, watch football. about 10 minutes before you want to be at the stadium, start walking west.

When you get to the corner of campus, the old rock gateway across from Kappa Sigma, walk NW thru that. Follow it until you get to Old Main. At Old Main, start walking due west. That will lead you right to the stadium. Follow the crowds from that point.

Parking is probably going to be a lot different than you are used to if you have never been to a game on The Hill. My suggestion would be to either park on Dickson some place prior to game and drink. You could also park behind the Tri Delt house. That puts you parking on campus not too far from the stadium. They usually sell those spots behind their sorority house for around $15 or $20. Option 3 is parking at Harps down the hill just north of campus where Wedington starts. Its a pretty good haul up the the hill to campus, but leaving after the game is easy. You can also park down at Baum Stadium and use the shuttle service. If you are feeling lucky, you may can find a parking pass online some place.

We tailgate, so we always get there early. That is going to be up to you and what you want to do before the game. About two hours before game time Razorback Road and all roads around campus become a cluster frick.

They started checking and patting you down towards the end of last season a lot more because of all the national security stuff. Last year was the first time I have ever had to completely unfold a blanket and shake it for security. In years past, that was where I would keep mind when it was cold. Going to have to go back to the drawing board now. If you sit in a club section, alcohol is available.

For big games that are also good games, we never sit down. The Alabama game a couple years ago when we lost 13-14, we did not sit down much at all.

You will not be able to find anything in Fayetteville right now, I would not imagine. You could probably find something up in Rogers or Bentonville if you want to stay the night. Traffic all the way back to Little Rock after a game is going to be pretty shitty I would think. I have done that once when I lived in West Little Rock years ago and only did it once. Also an option is staying downtown Ft. Smith. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn down there and it was good. Has a bard and all inside. Get as drunk as you want. But if you want the NWA experience, find a place in Rogers.
