Yesterday I was hearing talk on the radio and of everyone I knew about seven or eight inches next Wednesday. However, the weather.com forecast today says it's just going to rain on that day. Were there changes in the forecast, or is six days out still too iffy to accurately predict?

we got a little sleet but it was too warm to stick. I hated the 50 degree drop within a few hours.

And this is precisely why I don't even risk it with even a little snow/ice. I'm fairly confident in my own abilities, it's the women drivers that think slamming on the brakes when sliding is the correct thing to do and the douchebags driving 80 mph because their 4WD lifted truck "is made for this shite" that make me stay home.
I'd rather burn 1/20th of my vacation days and not deal with the traffic, white knuckle driving, and possible accidents.

it always snows around the 8th. I remember getting out of school in Arkansas 9/12 years on the 8th of Jan... So.. easy prediction!
