And quality booze. Though I think what self respecting fan wouldn't have a two month supply on hand...

nothing would make my move to NYC more awesome this year than arkansas getting more snow sooner than we do up here. For all i've heard about the brutal winters it's been a cake walk so far.

According to my family from NYC you're a long way out. They usually get snow up until April, so watch out.

January and February are the worst months. March can still get some bad cold snaps but it's warmer on average.

Last year, all of our big snowstorms came at the end of January, in February, and the beginning of March. We got 10" at the end of January and 5" on March 1 and another 5" on March 5, for instance.

How are you liking it? I moved up here for a job just before Hurricane Sandy (October 2012) so it's been close to three and a half years for me. I love it here.

i like it so far. Just started job hunting with the new year and while there is a ton of opportunity up here it's quite competitive and seems like the interview process takes forever. I was originally going to be freelancing with a friend of mine but I'm sick of waiting around on him to find work, seems like he's got lots of free projects for me though....

Other than that it's been great. Ikea furnished the apartment for cheap. Found a great rent controlled pre war place a couple blocks from prospect park that was bigger than I expected and 400 under budget. The food everywhere is phenomenal and I actually enjoy the subway rides, it's like a roller coaster with hobos.
