When Lane Kiffin left Tennessee after one year, it really didn't surprise me when Chaney was left behind. Lane Kiffin didn't really need him. What did surprise me was Tennessee keeping him for three more.

I don't think Chaney will be fired and he's making over half million/year, so I don't see him leaving by choice. But five years of the same shite doesn't lie. And if it hadn't for Robb Smith being hired in 2014, this season most likely would have played out significantly worse.

Agreed.

Bert is outspoken about how he'll let go of an assistant quickly (see Markuson, Mike) if he feels he's not cutting it and I want Chaney gone as much as anyone, but I just have this feeling like he'll be back.
