What about Dave Baldwin?

ETA: Never mind. Didn't realize he went to Oregon State.

Al Borges is just sitting out in Cali doing nothing at San Jose St.

It would probably be hard to pry someone from Sunny California to come here, but I did read an article that Coach B was wanting to expand his staff to include someone from out West with strong recruiting ties.

What would it take to bring in a Noel Mazzone or Al Borges?

I mean, while we are wishing.

Lunney - I"m indifferent on this one. I think he would do well. Couldn't do any worse.

Loggins - ?

J. Norvell - Please no. OU's toss outs?

Roper - No. FL had talent last year and still couldn't do much of anything. Didn't really seem to do a good job of developing QB talent either.

I doubt there is any actual substance to this hot board and it's more likely names that he just thought up.

yet, I actually like Roper...

What he accomplished at Duke and I don't think Florida was as talented as many think... Not on Offense.

I don't know what to think of Loggains.

He did have a QBR of 192.4 at Arkansas in 2002.

He's a player's coach from what I've seen on him. He does have ties to AR, but as far as a recruiter, etc. I think we need someone that brings in some possible recruits with them on this hire.

I'm not sure how much of that was Roper and how much was Cutcliffe. Obviously just working under Cutcliffe should be a very good place to cut your teeth, but none of that seemed to translate to FL.

There is a lot of talk about who actually called the plays there at Duke. Roper was a grad asst at Tenn under Cutcliffe when he was OC.

I'm not saying he would be the worst hire in the world, but I think we need someone more established.

Florida didn't have a QB and if you don't have a QB chances are your team won't be any good.

Pros:
Young
Affable
NFL Pedigree
Texas Ties
Hog through and through

Cons:
Minimal college (recruiting) experience (GA'd under Nutt)

I knew Dowell a bit back when he was on campus. I think he'd be a dynamite recruiter.

Loggains has been fired twice solely due to this handling of the QB position.

No Thanks.

If he wasn't for Arkansas, he wouldn't be a "hot name".
