Looks like our S&C coach went to NC State.

I guess Mark Robinson not retained.

Also, Mark Taurisani named #Hogs' director of football ops. Same job title he had at Wisconsin. Replaces Mark Robinson.

Anything new come out today about Ash possibly running for the Wisconsin HC job? Had a friend just now ask me about it, but I didn't think anything had happened since last week or so?

He is still in the running, probably the most realistic option for Wisconsin, Riley turned it down (Alvarez apparently said he had to interview), Petersen didn't return Alvarez's call(LOL).

Alvarez thinks he can get some guy off the Jaguar's staff who has Wisconsin ties. You probably won't see a hire until after the Rose Bowl up there now...

Take this FWIW, but I had somebody tell me earlier that Bielema is going after Dameyune Craig for WR Coach/RC.

I told them bullshite, but that would be a grand damn slam hire.

shite coach, but be good for recruiting I suppose.

I don't know how long he's been FSU's QB coach, but FSU QB's routinely blow and regress.

Supposedly a better WR coach than QB coach.

Rivals profile for their last recruiting class

Seems like he makes his money recruiting in AL and GA. Pretty impressive that he's known as a great recruiter and he's not even getting homegrown kids to elevate his rankings. He's pulling them from out-of-state.

Give that man a big chunk of money and let him go to work.

Auburn can't lure away coaches from the Highschool ranks, so...

Something i've noticed is that these coaches we're hiring seem to have been recruiting against us in the past for kids to play and won the battle. I never cared about star rankings as far as recruiting goes I care about how far down the coaches own list the kids he gets to play for him are. It's one thing if you get a 2* that you wanted really badly it's another if you get a 2* because he was plan D. It's the difference between the busts and the diamonds in the rough in my opinion.

I'll agree.

I will say as far as the star ranking system, it "works" as far as the obvious players in the obvious areas such as Texas, Florida, Georgia, Cali.

But when you get to the smaller areas I think the services tend to slap the ratings on the players and it gets muddy as the competition level decreases, you will never convince me Winston was a 5* CB for example, where as yeah, McFadden was an obvious 5* RB, that was an easy a call.

The problem with our recruiting is we get players from this smaller areas, so I don't value the team ranking system, or I don't think there is as much merit in "oh no we finished 48th in the nation, no way we finish better than 6-6, cause our players came from AR, OK, MO, etc instead of TX, FL, CA, GA". Their system is flawed in that regard.

But yes, if we are upgrading our staff in regards to recruiting by hiring guys who whipped our arse on the recruiting trail head to head, then it should show in the recruiting rankings in February, if it doesn't, I'm not going to take a bath with my toaster or anything...

Winston was a tad overrated but he certainly didn't get any help from willy robinson's coaching. It almost seemed like an attitude problem from him thinking he was a lot better than he was. I think he was a pretty good athlete though.

Wily Robinson says Winston's 5 tackles this season didn't have a damn thing to do with my mustache.

Massively overrated. Not good coaching, agreed. But you saw more talent in Tevin Mitchell's first game than Winston showed in 4 years.
