After the introductory press conference, On3 is reporting that high level donors will meet with Cal...those high level donor families include the Tyson's, Walton's, and Hunt's.

According to another report, the Hunt family was not aware of how bad the football NIL situation was and are now prepared to be a major NIL contributor to the football NIL.

Cal had an opt out to be an assistant AD in his KY contract?

Wonder Hunter hired his own replacement since Cal is fixing all the NIL mess for Hunter?

Also expect his son to be on his staff here, KY blocked the hire and he was in Stackhouse's staff last season.

As long as the results are not the same as Stackhouse, I am good with it.

Hell, Muss had his entire family working here.

This is why I scoff at the “Hog fans owe Yurachek an apology” bullshite I’m seeing online and I’m the media.

Yes, we just hired a HoF basketball coach, but our football program is still a mess and our NIL collective is still years behind the entirety of the SEC. That’s directly at Hunter’s feet.

People should be able to hold two thoughts in their head at the same time. Giving credit to Hunter for the Cal hire and also blame for the state of our NIL situation shouldn’t be mutually exclusive.

I have a hard time believing this part. The entire fan base has been complaining about our NIL situation for months and plenty of “insiders” have said our NIL was well behind the rest of the SEC. I don't see how the Hunt family could be blissfully unaware of the situation.

Honestly, I take all the NIL talk with a big grain of salt. Just like how we were going to retain Sam, but his buyout money was going to go toward NIL money in football. That turned out great.

Agreed.

There was going to be a big double-down on football NIL in lieu of buying out Pittman (remember Pittman’s ‘slip up in his presser with HY), yet our NIL is a woeful shitshow?

Pretty tough to square that circle.

Agree completely. Hunter doesn't like NIL. Admittedly, I don't like how it's been implemented either, but he hates it and it's clear he hasn't been trying.

I some times wonder if he really does anything other than hire a coach, and show up at games.

His #1 job is keeping boosters happy and taking as much of the boosters money as he can so we can be competitive in sports.

I'd like to add Saint Thomas to that list as well.

Hypothetical question.... would you want us to go after Bronny James?

Personally, I don't think he's that good of a player but the publicity would be non-stop......

not sure how I feel.
Not a LeBron fan... Jordan is the GOAT in my book but you couldn't argue the attention it might bring to us.

No. The only publicity I want to worry about is from winning.

It's still amazing to me that the Cal hire may the move that actually eliminates the perpetual little dick energy from the Ark program and admin for the foreseeable future.

Its like the light bulb finally went off for the big $$ and decision makers that they can actually honout an but championships now.

Cal for AD after he retires... Hell yes. You'll never find a better fundraiser.

Bronny declared for the draft, I thought? Either forcing the Lakers to burn a draft pick or trade bron to the team that does.

The Walton's? If Cal can get them on board, look out.

I think Bronny is in the portal at the moment... but he may be thinking draft.
