Malik Monk threads trigger me

I thought I was at peace with the situation but it's becoming unbearable.
I was telling myself he will be gone after 1 year, so I won't have to endure him going ham at UK for much longer.
Then I realized when he's doing the same thing in the NBA it will be even worse.
We have a solid team but imagine what could have been...
The only thing that will put my mind at peace is if a massive UK pay-for-play scandal is unveiled and they receive death penalty-like sanctions.

It was a huge recruiting fail by MA, and yes it's irritating.

Why care? Ive always been critical of MA's recruiting, but at this point it looks like we made out fine.
So Monk went some place else, oh well...Arkansas is also 9-1 and we get our shot at Kentucky later in the season. The real travesty is we only play Kentucky one time a season for some reason or another.
So far, I am pretty happy with the product we have on the floor, other than I want to know why CJ Jones isn't playing as much as he was.

The only thing MA and staff failed at in recruiting MM was not paying the requested $50k. I can't fault him for nixing that.
The staff did everything else that they could.

He's worth way more than 50k, but he's dead to me. I can't imagine putting UK blue on after growing up in Arkansas. The Kentucky will showcase me more for the NBA crap is the dumbest thing I hear. When you have that much talent, you can play at VCU and end up the #1 pick in the draft. He's just another look at me kid with dollar signs in his eyes.

No shite. It's a bullshite excuse. Ben Simmons went to LSU to play for Johnny Motherfricking Jones and still went #1 overall.

Ya'll should stop melting.
Its not a good look.
He is an 18 year old kid that chose to go to school at Kentucky for a season. Deal with it.
In case none of you noticed that are melting on the SEC Rant in the thread dedicated to getting you to melt...We have a 9-1 team ourselves with quite a bit of talent.
We are Arkansas fans on the SEC Rant, stop falling for easy troll threads that trigger you. Its embarrassing to an "old timer" of this board to watch all of you go into that thread and get triggered.

He got paid. Kentucky has a long and storied history of cheating and they hire coaches who cheat and fire coaches who don't.
We don't run our program like that.

Exactly, he's a one and done player who went to the Mecca of one and done players... Kentucky. I wish we had landed him but as good as he is he'd have left at the end of the season anyway so we'd still have been playing the what if game next year.

I'm glad he went to Kentucky.
I like this team top to bottom, is not sure he'd "fit" within this team. What this team doesn't need or have is a player out there to get his or showcase himself which is exactly what Arkansas needs as a team.
I'm not sure which player i would trade off this team who would be here 2-4 years for one year of Monk.
They just won a game against a decent Texas squad at a neutral site in Texas, who cares about Monk.

He did what he believed to be best for him. I think we've all probably done the same with regard to our own lives or some aspects thereof. Whether you are somebody like Keith Jackson or an average Joe like me who grew up in a small place it isn't unusual to leave your home and go to other places to better your life and ultimately that of your family. And if/when they go back home, whether it is a town or state, they should be welcomed back and congratulated on their achievements and accomplishments in life. Let them be ambassadors and contribute to their community and state whenever that may be. We lose nothing by them doing so.

Im over it honestly. Wish we played a home/home with Kentucky this year. BWA may have exploded if Monk had come to town.

That's very nice and I mostly feel the same. I am a homer by nature and can't really understand how he's bettering himself by going to KY than to UA and I won't be participating in any parades or celebrations of his accomplishments. However, I'd never want someone here that didn't want to be here and it's his life so good luck to him.

Marcus picked UK, not Malik.
I posted this on the rant, but I'll post it here too. Marcus got mad Mike wouldn't give him an assistant job(the one Thurman has now) in return for Malik. So he ran to Calipari and WWW and got whatever he wanted in return for Malik. He used his brother for extreme personal gain.

If that is actually true, then we're fricking dumb for not giving him a job. Is that just sour butt hurt grapes or have you legit heard that?
Anyone who says we're better off without him or he'd make this team worse is an idiot. We'd be all over TV right now, Bud Walton would be rocking and we'd be undefeated most likely.
Still love this team but get real people. Dude just dropped 47 on UNC with the whole country watching.
That being said, I'd love to go there and beat their arse. Won't happen but they don't look as strong overall as they have in the past few years.

It's true and it's not dumb. Marcus can't coach and definitely doesn't know how to recruit. Our recruiting has seen a huge jump since Thurman took that spot.

so we should join the highest bidders, risk NCAA sanctions, become known as a dirty program for one Monk....
Amusing indeed. Marcus was with this staff for a while as a grad assistant, correct?
And yet....
Enough said, he is gone and we should let it be. We are looking fairly good as of now. and I do believe we are on the up. Finally.
WPS!

This may sound shitty, but if we already knew Marcus was willing to ship him off to Kentucky if we didn't give him the job, then why not hire him for a year then can his arse? I mean if one of us is gonna get fricked might as well be markus
