I wasn’t done with him, because I hadn’t really paid attention to him, but him saying there was not a contract in the works for Muss and Pitt just need to switch that 4-8 to 7-5 or 8-4… I am done with him. He doesn’t actually care about winning.

Just need DVH to retire because he is tired of him and take away the only bright spot of his athletic department.

He doesn't deserve a raise. He will be lucky to get another high school kid from Arkansas, he has burned significant NIL bridges, and he has lost every decent assistant. We won't even get into the fact that his son brings zero value to the staff and makes 125k.

If he’s not the man to lead the program then fire him. You’re either all in behind a coach or not. You don’t say we believe he’s the 15th best coach and we don’t care if he leaves.

If the NIL people are upset then HY needs to help fix that.

Well you can thank our idiot anti buyout AD for giving him a 12 mil buyout on our end which makes firing him virtually impossible because we’re broke.

seems the NIL people are upset in football and “upset” in basketball. What’s the common denominator? Either we have the shittiest donor base in all of major college athletics or our AD is bad at his job.

wait he actually said that? Openly admitted going 7-5 in year 5 is good enough? Wow we are such a joke

The guy is a joke. I don’t even believe Muss should be getting an extension at this time. But the way HY is handling this feels like some random fan off the street got handed the keys to the athletic department.

HY is approaching John L Smith levels of being out of touch and senile.

As stated before, HY was a great pre-NIL era AD. Now, he's just lost in the new realities of college sports.

Just look at how great he does in revenue-loss sports and how shitty he is at managing the programs that float your entire ath dept.

It's night and day.

People have been clamoring for Chris Beard but do you think this clown would be able to land him here? Ole Miss is already proved they will pay money to win while our AD is working with politicians.

We wouldn't even be able to beat Ole Miss for a basketball coach.

Get ready to hire Brice Drew on a "prove it" contract.

Beard is a great coach, and I'm not the type to be going after moral integrity championships but...

I have some serious issues with is domestic violence case. I'm all on board for sweeping Petrino-like sins under the rug, but reading up on Beard's case... it's pretty clear that he acted in a way that I would only describe as disgusting, and I would have some serious moral qualms about supporting him.

It's not like it was 10 years ago and he came back rehabilitated. He landed another cushy, high paid, power 5 job pretty much immediately. Very little consequences for his actions. If he's involved in any further domestic violence, I would consider Ole Miss, as an institution, almost as guilty as Beard, for enabling him.

He also is a Texass alum

I'm aware that the complaint was dropped

I feel like this is a conversation I would have with HY if I ran into him 10 beers deep at a bar. So dumb to air this shite publically on a podcast.

The exact reason he would never be hired here. Besides that issue, we won't spend the money to outbid Ole Piss.

I wonder about Porter Moser. He wouldn't be a homerun but better than Bryce Drew. Making ~a million less than Muss, has a final 4 to his name. Hasn't done much at OU but has steadily improved

He was looking to get out of Norman before being fired. He was that tourneys Stan Heath, had a good run at an unexpected place. Doesn't mean he can sustain success this he's proven.

I'm not sure the NIL donors are looking for the 5 year rebuild process you get with him that he hasn't been able to do at 0U. Since NIL donors are all that matters.

And high school coaches who apparently don't understand players hit the portal if they don't feel like their roles/minutes suite them /sarcasm

Yeah those are all valid objections. I’m just saying I would take him over Bryce Drew if it came to that.

Who would you want us to target if Muss is gone?

Quite underwhelming at Oklahoma. Hard Pass. OU fans are about ready for him to go anyway.
