I have never seen such a group of people get so worked up over a coach. It is one thread after another about BB. I know I'm relatively new here but is this pretty much par for the course? Just curious since I don't see that many threads about other coaches.
True, and it's probably just innate hatred of the Big Ten and anything and everything that comes out of it. Of course, a lot of it is probably attributed to the "we don't want to be like the SEC in any way" comments from his Wiscy days. Auburn fans seem to be the most obsessed as they have a vested interest in seeing him fail because we didn't give the Gus Bus the time of day.
I'll admit, I thought Bert was a colossal d-bag while he was at Wisconsin, and I always rooted against them (though I did envy their style of play). Not sure why, but it was also because went went for two late in the game when he was blowing out Minnesota a few years ago, got called on it by their coach in postgame, and then tried to act like it's what situational playsheet was telling him at that point in time (which of course was BS).

I really don't care either way, I'm just enjoying the Auburn melt.

The only thing that will top this rule discussion will be if Auburn is left out of the playoffs with another team selected over them.
Jeff Long will surpass Saban in their aubsession if this scenario were to play out.

I'm still waiting on someone to start the Auburn Coaching Search thread, since Gus' offense is about to be derailed, which will lead to his firing.

You know what is really comical about this whole deal?
How so many LSU fans are pissed off because they think LSU runs the HUNH...

New rule slowing down college football at its height of popularity isn't about player safety, it's about a who runs college football.

You should make a thread about how Dykes is looking for an advantage with rules after going 2-10 and 0-howeverthefrickmanygames the pac12 plays now using that tweet.

Yeah, not sure how this ever started getting accepted. Back when I played in high school this would've been flagged every time. If you take your stance you shouldn't be able to pop up and look at the sidelines afterwards

Big talk for a guy who went 1-11 this year.

BB Twitter account is full of mad Auburn fans.

Didn't a lot of these same coaches, specifically Gundy, want the rules for determining a national champion in college football changed "at the height of its popularity"?

I don't have a problem with the HUNH all together, just portions that I feel stretch the rules.
1. When offensive line men's hand hits the ground...they're not supposed to move...or else it's a penalty. Countless times in games though, they do that then pop up and look to the sidelines etc.
2. HUNH offenses dictate the pace of the game. An unfair advantage to the defense. If said team is a HUNH offense, but stalls for nearly 30 seconds of the play clock to change their play but does not substitute, the defense can't substitute, but in the end they in fact had plenty of time to substitute.

I don't really care if they change it or not, but I love the drama on the rant like a 12 yr old girl

If this happens, would the change take place as early as next season?

It'd be pretty cool if it did. I'll join in with everyone who also hates the prairie dog play changes after getting set. I've jumped up cheering what I thought were false start penalties several times in the past 4 or 5 years when the line gets set and all jump up fast at the same time.
