Face it. With Saint Gus we'd have Arkansas on a TV and Bowl ban within 3 years.
Possibly.
I'm not convinced he would have done a great deal better record wise with the roster last year than any other coach would have, Bert included.
I'm also not convinced he is the X's and O's genius as portrayed since his offense is based around archaic offense principles used in a spread formation at a fast pace. It is said that his offense doesn't require elite talent, because of the one on one matchups it creates, but I don't buy that as one on one would dictate that player had to be athletically superior than the opponent directly opposite of him.
Nutt's offense was archaic as well, straight out of the 60s/70s, it was successful when he had talent, when he didn't not so much.

BTW: What I was talking about earlier can already be seen on HiV.
There are posts saying Dykes should be in the running for the Men's job to replace Mike, possibly as early as after next season.
Is this based on Dyke's record as a HC? I don't see how.
Is it based on his association to Sutton? For some, most likely.
Is it based on his association to Shiloh? Possibly.

This is why I call the hire nepotistic. We got a cheerleader not a basketball coach.
I really don't know why I'm rustled I don't have a dog in the fight, maybe this is the precursor to bringing Gus home.
I certainly don't spend any of my $ or time on the women's basketball program but with a sports crazy niece I can foresee lots of days hauling a group of little girls up to lady sports games. Thank God for smartphones and msg boards.

He knows plenty about the game, but knowing and coaching are two entirely different things.
From what I've seen on the news and read, he plans on playing Sutton-ball, not that anyone is going to go and watch.
He is also being paid 450k which is more than DVH, but that isn't surprising as WBB is higher on the secondary sports ladder.

Dykes will probably bring more to the table fundraising wise than Van Horn. He's got a much bigger personality.
Whether or not he wins on the floor he should make the university more money than they normally would with WBB.

Probably. Maybe he can help raise funds for the practice facility, since half will be his and it serves more of a need for the Women's program compared to a luxury for the Men's.

With the SEC-N someone is going to have to fill the WBB time slots, so why not Arkansas?
