I'll answer it. Jeff longs primary job is to turn profit, and build shite for the athletic department.
Pretty much has been a success in that regard. It is some of his secondary operations he has went full retard on.

Our fanbase is full of complete fricking morons who don't understand the purpose of an athletic department or an athletic director.
The entire god damn point is to make the University more attractive and to help in fundraising. Instead, we have an extremely large chunk of the population who don't realize that the civil war is over and the south lost. The most common term for Jeff Long is a carpetbagger. This is not the god damn reconstruction era.
People need to realize if they keep doing the same shite over and over it will NEVER improve. Unfortunately, I think it's largely a lost cause. Arkansas keeps losing people with intelligence because of lack of opportunity and the inability to deal with all the loud obnoxious idiots. NWA is different than the rest of the state for this exact reason.

Idgaf about fundraising or gpa's. Any AD will be rolling in the money because we have an outstanding donor base. Win or lose, the money flows, unless you are a complete dick to them.
What he's done is nothing more than I would expect out of any AD. He fails at hiring coaches that go on to embarrass the program, which kids today, look at it as a bottom tier program, except baseball.

This is true but the main driver of an attractive university from an athletic standpoint is football especially in the south.
It can be done with an elite basketball program but football is king.

I used to support Long.. I am beginning to have a distaste for his way of doing things. I keep getting emails and invitations from the foundation, "Scott Varady" with his cell number provided...
Wanting me to purchase more expensive seating, which is his job. But my Lord folks.. take a look at the tickets for sale on Stubhub and see the prices. We are a complete dumpster fire right now.
As a football program at least. Bucknam is terrible as well, that was a stupid decision. JL SMith was as well, terrible decision.
Plus his smugness and arrogance is wearing a bit thing at the moment. A little humility wouldn't hurt the man considering the buyout as well. Idiotic.

I like Long in some regards. he's wanting in the coaching hires but honestly I dont blame him entirely for the hiring of these coaches. sometimes it doesn't work out and you move on. you don't fire the CEO cause the cfo didn't live up to the resume that the CEO and board approved.

No doubt that under Long's watch our athletic programs have been losers. Men's and women's sports have been bad.
Petrino fell in his lap. The state wanted Mike Anderson and he did deliver, but the rest of his hires have sucked. The buyout on Bert is the icing on the cake. His SEC record is pathetic and we locked him up. Long she be held accountable for that. If he doesn't find a way to rid us of Bert and hire us a winner then he should be shown the door.
It's crazy the damage that the Petrino ending and the Bert era has done to good hog fans. Turned a crazy, passionate fan base in to an apathetic, demoralized collection of burnouts. Although, the hatred of Bert may unify the fan base that broke with the end of the Nutt/Malzahn failure.

I dont ascribe to the if your remove the good... which I'm not sure you count on the Perino hire since the ending was pretty bad.
