You don't know that

The more logical line of thought is something will be done if Bert doesn't start winning. Kinda like what was done with Tom Collen. But you can keep living in fantasy land where nothing is done if Bert doesn't keep improving.

Dude his buyout is 15.4 million dollars til December of 2018. everybody just needs to get used to it because he is here to stay because of this contract. I'll just keep rooting for him to win recruiting battles and hope he gets it turned around or he atleast stocks the cupboard for the next guy.

There isn't a job in America that Bert's 3 year record (if these season goes how many of us expect) doesn't get you fired. I believe a way will be found to send fatty packing if that happens.

What AD is going to want to come to Arkansas to get thrown out 2 years after being AD of the year?

Occam's Razor isn't always right. He'll stay here until his buyout goes down to 7 mil unless long is canned. It's hard to put future effects on a resume. If long cans BB he has to stay until the ship is righted. If long doesn't he is still free to leave bc the money adds up. he wont be able to advance to another program or industry until the balance sheets check out. I don't think he's willing to gamble his career on another football coach until the money makes sense.

I understand the probable losses if BB sucks it up the rest of the year and next year, but a new coach having success isn't guaranteed.

It's something that has to be waited out money wise, like it or not. If Arkansas had just won a NC 2 years ago it could be understandable, but there isn't momentum in the football program to risk trying a new coach next year.

A new contract with another failed coach would set Arkansas back to tennessee levels of money.

eta: i fully support firing bielema and staff, I just don't think Long will want to do it until the buyout goes down.

I honestly don't know why we care what he says...

Its not about us, its not going to make a difference on the field of play, it is hilarious for sure.

Let them man be himself.

Consider this. We live in a society that say's "Be yourself, Express who you really are, be honest" until that person is losing on the field of play, then it is "Be someone else until you win"

Bipolar much?

Let the man be who he is period. If it works in time, great.. If not we have stories to tell our grandchildren! Showtime.

Nice strawman argument.

No it's the figure head of Arkansas football. It's a matter of tolerance. Yea if BB wins I'll tolerate the shite talking but I won't condone it. If he is a loser my tolerance will fade.

BB could have said (in respect to the Ohio st ooc comment) his team and the sec schedule harder teams more regularly than other schools. No reason to single out another school when plenty of schools do this.

Yes I believe in being yourself and free speech but don't be a douchebag about it. A little more thought could have changed the media's perception.

At the end of last year when he was shite talking Texas, no one cared because he had won. He had earned the right to to talk shite about them because he had blown them out.

But now he is making a complete arse of the program and destroying any goodwill he had earned with both fans and the media. I'm not okay with that.

So no, it's not bipolar at all.

Bielema speaks his mind. Refreshing as it is, sometimes his mouth can get him into trouble.

However, Bielema speaks his mind and I have no problem with that. What he had to say today in response to Kliffy was well spoken and on point.

I agree with Hawgfaninc, if Bielema keeps losing he will be gone sooner rather than later.

From the rant:

quote:

"As a coach who has been in it for 10 years, I know better than to worry about somebody that's been around for a couple and they're .500. So we'll just go forward."

Did he really say this? If so, he needs to STFU. Nobody GAF what you did in the shitty Big 10 anymore. So far at Arkansas you're well below .500 with multiple embarrassing losses.

I just don't get what all the hubbub is about, who cares...

It is his thoughts, he shares it.

Would I prefer he shut up for a while, sure... But his bravado was evident prior to hiring him, and we didn't complain until the losses. We knew this going in, right?

I did... I have paid attention to Wisky for several years now...

Well, I actually think that the negative part of his personality (Crap Talking) is what has brought good press along with the bad.

The recruits seem to love him period.

I have had several conversations with folks who think he sells this program and this university every single day. Perception can hurt, but it will be amazing when it gets turned around, if it does.

If it doesn't, well... it was a show while it lasted.

This is true. He would be a monster if he could win a nc.

Instead of Sabah bitching out the media for concluding lesser opponents, BB would be lambasting sec foes for even showing up.

It's a pipe dream but it's possible. Still wish he could wait until Arkansas dominates to call out reigning ncs.

folks say, "Shutup until you win something" why? Heck, do what it takes to feel comfortable in your own skin. Do your best to win, enjoy the process of getting there but Dear Lord speak your freaking mind the entire time.

We all know/knew we weren't capable of challenging this season, right? Surely there wasn't among us anyone who thought we had the horses to compete yet...

Dang we are fickle as crap. I have no problem with his responses to Cliff Bar today. Dude is a caricature of humanity.

We need to loosen up and join in the fun of being Bert.
So far we cant bring it, but my voice aint too dang bad.so sing it.. Anyone else want to join the chorus!

I know one thing. We have the horses to compete with fricking Toledo and Texas Tech. And I also know our coaches shite the bed. It has nothing to do with thinking this team was going to be world beaters. I predicted 9-3, but would've been fine with 8-4 or 7-5. But we're staring down a 2-10 season in our coach's third year.

What the frick? What's the fun part of playing shite football, losing to Toledo and TT in year 3 at home, and being a total laughing stock? I don't know about you, but that's not fun to me. Fun to me is winning football games, and having a respectable coach that doesn't make an arse of himself.

See, here's the deal man. We cant make a difference in the outcome of our crappy season either way, but melting down on the rant plays into the hands of our beloved "Crappy SEC,SEC," grouping. Not for me. So, speak up CBB, tell us what your going to do! And if you don't, you are gone either way. At least the show is there if nothing else.

IDC what the mans says... I do want much better results, but while we are waiting don't be a shrinking violet...
