A few months back Cowherd told a similar story about Long giving Petrino an ultimatum and that's why he left the Falcons.

Well, today former Raiders exec. Mike Lombardi told Rich Eisen a little more about Kiffins involvment. Apparently that's really how the Petrino hiring happened. He bolted therefore spurning Kiffin who was going to get the Hogs job.

Video link follows: Lombardi tells 2 Kiffin stories. The first is how Lane got the Raiders job by complete luck and the Petrino story starts around 1:20. Both are worth listening to.

Kidding hadn't exactly tore it up as a head coach.

So, let me get this straight....

Long had us in the position to either end with a disaster of a harlot on a Harley with our head coach, lying the entire time and having hired said harlot for under the table recruiting jobs.

or

a coed banging, joey freshwater, leave in the middle of the night while couches burn playboy!

LOLOLOL!!! We truly are cursed!

Both at the time would have been hailed as home run hires.

Bobby for his short comings won alot here.

Either way we would have been happy at the time.

Did your autocorrect give you Kidding too, or are you bustin' my balls? I was annoyed when I saw my post, but not annoyed enough to fix it.

I honestly think it would've worked. He wouldn't have had the ridiculous pressure of the USC job and he wouldn't have had to have worked constantly in the shadow of a guy like Saban. I don't think it would have been a disaster. But he definitely would have been gone after an 11-2 year like Petrino had in '11 so it really wouldn't have changed where we are now

Sure he would have. Do you think he wouldn't have done the same thing to Arkansas that he did to Tennessee?

Damn. I'm really happy Bobby was the hire. As much bad as he did, he made people realize that it's possible to win at Arkansas and he energized the fan base after Nutt. Kiffin still hasn't proven shite as a HC and he would have left us shortly for USC anyway.
